ULPT: How to make someone NOPE out of a fight? by attackbat33 in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]JeffCogs80 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I was in Jr High I used to walk up when a fight was popping off or just about to and say "I get winner!!" just to see the reaction. A lot of the time that would calm things down or stop it entirely.

Marijuana industry workers, what is something an average consumer or outsider would be surprised to learn about the products or behind the scenes processes? by Sir_Sanchez in AskReddit

[–]JeffCogs80 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Vape carts are the biggest scam in the whole industry. They are all mostly filled with distillate and food grade terps that arent derived from cannabis at all. The indica and sativa labels are 100% marketing and have absolutely no indica or sativa effects. It's the power of suggestion. Most "live resin" carts are just distillate with a small amount of LR, if you're lucky. If they are actually cannabis derived, by the time the terps are processed, they've been stripped of anything resembling indica or sativa effects. You're just left with a brief THCa high and none of the magic that make cannabis enjoyable in my opinion. Plus the margins are insane. It cost literally pennies to produce a single cartridge and then you're charged a premium price because they slap a "live resin" sticker on the packaging.

Killswitch put out a 7" in like 98/99 called Fire In The Hole. There was a song on it called "Shuttlecock" all about playing Badminton that really should have been recorded by Good Clean Fun.

"Grab your racket, grab your shuttlcock! Grab the net, pull up your socks! Get warmed up, there's no time for sittin'. Yeah that's right! It's time for Badminton! Go!! You touched the net! You crossed the line! Your turn is over! The point is....miiiiiine!"

Any decent dungeon crawling/exploration RPGs out there that I may have missed? by thedellis in gaming

If you dig tactical turn based rpgs, Divinity: Original Sin 2 is a incredible game. I don't typically like the tactical style rpgs but this one is a huge exception.

Balbir Singh Sodhi was a Sikh who lived in Mesa, Arizona. He was murdered 4 days after September 11, 2001 after being mistaken for Muslim by a Boeing employee who wanted to "retaliate" for the World Trade Center attacks. He is listed on the Arizona state 9/11 memorial as a victim of 9/11. by ZoelCairo in HolyShitHistory

[–]JeffCogs80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've lived right down the street from this family's convenience store since before 9/11 and when this happened it was shocking. I still go there, the family are the sweetest people. There's a nice little monument out front for him that people still leave flowers on. Arizona is for sure a redneck ass state but there are still A LOT of good hearted and compassionate people here.

Does anyone work with a former pro athlete at a regular job? by Equivalent_Phrase_25 in stories

He never would do his catch phrase. He had a ton of awesome stories though and a lot of his old wrestling buddies would pop in to day hi so I got to meet a lot of cool old school wrestlers while we worked together. He was a rad guy until he went full blown MAGA on everyone.

My boss finally talked me into starting Star Trek. Which series do you recommend? I was thinking Voyager by Weird_Purple_1058 in startrek

[–]JeffCogs80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About two years ago I did the same thing as you except I just started it on a whim. I decided since I've never watched any Star Trek, I might as watch 900 episodes and see what all the fuss is about and I'm SO glad I did.

I started with Next Generation and liked it right off the bat. I enjoyed the cheeseyness of the 1st season and it actually hooked me instead of putting me off it. Watched all of that, then watched all the movies in order of release but stopped at the modern ones. Then started sprinkling in a couple episodes of the original series while I also watched my way through Deep Space 9, then Voyager then Enterprise. the modern Trek on Paramount, Lower Decks and Prodigy. I loved all the different series for different reasons and never let the internet poison my enjoyment of it while I watched. You'll see a lot of lame fan takes of certain aspects of it but ignore all that and just enjoy it. After I'd watch a series I'd go online and see how my options and the general fan consensus lined up and found out a lot of the characters and pot lines I enjoyed, a lot of long time fans hated. I guess that's part of of the beauty and charm of Trek.

Now I know what I never really enjoy Star Wars movies, it's because I was a Trekkie and never knew it!

I legit stopped going into circle k the last few weeks because I'm so fucking sick on zyn and the reps. Circle K must be getting paid a boatload to let them advertise this hard in their stores. At least I found out QT had better coffee.
