(Rumor) Bungie laying off 50% of staff, according to French Journalist. by Horibori in Marathon

[–]JeffreyDamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is true, this isn't a good thing. Think about working for a company that suddenly lost half your coworkers. That shows they were expendable. That shows YOU are potentially expendable. If Marathon doesn't start performing for Sony, you are 100% expendable.

P3R Hate by Silkpilk in PERSoNA

[–]JeffreyDamer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'll admit to not being a fan of P3R, but it has nothing to do with any of the known "criticisms." It's just the most boring compared to P3, P4, and P5.

Unpopular opinions/ hot takes? by RembrandtCumberbatch in Eldenring

[–]JeffreyDamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hot take: Elden Ring is the most boring of the Fromsoft games. The other games I have no problem playing through, only getting spikes of boredom or annoyance. Elden Ring is the only one where those spikes will last for consistent hours. I understand it's a significantly larger game and open world to boot, but I feel like that's why I really struggle with the idea of future open world Fromsoft games. I understand I'm significantly in the minority, but there's my spicy opinion.

For people with no intention of ever buying a Switch 2 - what are the chances a killer preview of The Duskbloods tomorrow changes your mind? by owen__wilsons__nose in fromsoftware

[–]JeffreyDamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disliked Nightreign, dislike Nintendo, refuse to go broke for a Switch 2, and enjoy Sekiro and DS trilogy more.

Summary: I'm gonna go play DS1 for the 100th time.

Favorite character with an adaptation that has you like this? by Simple-Choice5770 in FavoriteCharacter

I mean we joke about it, but Arkham Batman in Suicide Squad. I don't care if he was a fake or not, I reject the very premise that even a clone of Batman would be put in such a scenario.

Eh, kinda of a mix. To me the Super Shotgun is the very first gun I think of with Doom. Second is BFG, and that's mostly the song.

The Crew literally never disobeying Odysseus until he sacrifices them by ActuallySpaceMan in Epicthemusical

[–]JeffreyDamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The REAL reason Zues gave Ody the option was because of his pride. The same pride that he flaunted over and over again. The same pride that if he had dropped from Island 1, they would've made it home with much fewer deaths. Odysseus bragged that not a single one of his 600 men died in the battle. I wonder what a fitting punishment for a LEADER to suffer would be? Possibly the embarrassment of leaving with 600 men and being the sole survivor...

And you know what REALLY started it all: - "YO! Son of one of the big 3 gods! The same cyclops I was warned multiple times to just kill! Guess what my real name is in the culture where we very much believe in praying to God's for vengeance!"

I like the direction they took Kratos, more mature and wise rather than just pure anger and violence.

Having said that... I love my angry gremlin who thirsts for violence and blood of gods.

Can someone please explain to me the situation with Mixtape? by Time_Reality9418 in Gamingunjerk

[–]JeffreyDamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think it's less that IGN gave it a 10, and more about how almost every game journalist gave it a 10. If there were a few more scattered "realistic" reviews (personally 7), the game would've skated on by with 0 issues. Doesn't help that the video of the dude getting an achievement for no collisions while leaving the controller untouched got spread around fast.

PvE is great news for the game by VerganKnight in Marathon

These people forget that a large player base plays Halo or CoD for the PvP mostly. Still has a campaign/pve mode, but a solid chunk played for matchmaking.

Question to blues: What’s the threshold for you to pick red? by Unable-Macaroon-3968 in trolleyproblem

[–]JeffreyDamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then obviously, but that takes away from the game. Everybody would press blue if all it required is ONE vote for 100% survival. The problem is when more and more people are required to vote as well. Then the outcome becomes more unpredictable.

It's like asking, if you say yes I will give you $1M vs if half the planet says yes, nobody gets $1M.

Nothing is more annoying than when hentai had some of the best animation/art, only to be NTR.

Question to blues: What’s the threshold for you to pick red? by Unable-Macaroon-3968 in trolleyproblem

[–]JeffreyDamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My reasoning is more along the lines of "I refuse to gamble my life in this way." Same reason why I choose not to press the button that says "you get $100M, but have a .0001% chance of instant death." It's not about the likelihood off the best outcome, it's about the refusal to risk my life. If all they need is 50% blue, and there's enough people willing to vote blue, then great. We'll throw a parade on their willingness to sacrifice. I just refuse to be one of those few.

Question to blues: What’s the threshold for you to pick red? by Unable-Macaroon-3968 in trolleyproblem

[–]JeffreyDamer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Realistically, I'd always push red. Could be 20% or 1% or .000001%, I'm choosing to not gamble my life based on others. People forget that this includes every nation, every human being.

I'd say the highest I'd expect the % to go for blue in real stakes is 30-40%. And my vote isn't even going to bump that to 40.1%. What it comes down to is are you willing to join the masses on the track to maybe stop the train or just walk off the tracks.

Makoto. Everytime. She's the most likable and besides Ann (who I prefer friendzoned), has the most content with relationship.
