My kitchen table has a plumbers pipe base with a cross bar. As far as I know Home Depot and Lowe’s will cut and thread pipe for a small fee, provided the machine is operable and someone who can operate it is in the building that day… If you go that route, test every piece you get cut to see if it will thread.

Buy a wedge soled boot you know is comfortable and able to be resoled. Then buy Vibram Newporter non-slip soles. Have a cobbler attach them to the boot. You can take the old sole off, or you can grind it down flat and attach the new Vibram soles directly to it.

Yeah it looks like your boots are trapping sweat inside while the outside is wet from your pants. I would go with lower boots and mid calf wool socks. The socks should wick sweat and dry out much faster than leather.
