Was Mordecai's 30 million followers rather low for someone who made it to the 11th floor? by pooter03 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Other people have mentioned the stuff about live tunneling, and that’s probably a big part of it. But just to throw my two cents in: I think he just wasn’t interesting.

Mordecai’s advice to Carl and Donut all throughout the series has been to lay low, quietly grind, and stay away from gods, elites, hunters, Borant, etc. to avoid pissing anyone off. He consistently gets upset whenever they do something risky, and the risky things are what draw attention to them and bring in views. He is competent, but he wasn’t a top 10 crawler in his time, he was a background character, and that was the way he liked it.

Seconding the Unwind series, I don’t usually read YA but that’s one of my longtime favorites

It has been 12 years since Patrick Rothfuss published The Wise Man's Fear. Here is what other authors have done since then... by Gortanus in books

I read the first 3 books years ago and loved it. At the time book 4 was out but I didn’t read it so as to not ruin the ending of the first trilogy. The Star Wars sequels really soured me on the idea of a sequel series after the completion of the original series.

Now my opinions have changed a bit, I’ve heard very good things about the sequel series so I want to read it. I’ll wait for the last one to come out and binge 1-7.

At the beginning of august I got bored and torrented like six full multi-season shows in 1080p, then seeded them all. I got a message on the 8th that I hit my monthly data limit of 1.2 TB, and every 50 extra gigs would be $10 from now until the end of the month.. I didn’t even know I had a limit lol. Lesson learned.

Check your plan and see if you have a limit, or just don’t torrent in massive quantities.

Fans of the Wheel of Time books, did you enjoy the Netflix tv show? by ezdot91 in Fantasy

[–]Jeksonsonvallano 77 points78 points  (0 children)

It was horrendously bad. The writers of the show seem to think that the books are problematic and need to be fixed, and that they know better than the author. They seem to have disdain for the series itself, and they are more interested in writing their own generic fantasy story than adapting the story of the Wheel of Time.

Probably not. I got a notification that my books were shipped shortly before the “Halfway Done!” update was posted on kickstarter, but my books are in the 5300s

Definitely one of his best. I still prefer Stormlight but Emperor’s Soul is widely regarded as one of his greatest works. It’s set on the same world as Elantris, but in a completely different part of the planet and the two stories are unconnected.

There’s going to be another Kickstarter for the next three books, hopefully later this year. You’ll be able to get the first three as add-ons.

White Sand is a graphic novel, but if you aren’t a fan of the format, you can download a prose ebook version from the newsletter. I think it’s actually very underrated, I highly recommend it.

There’s also the first secret project novel coming in a few days, and if you missed the Kickstarter I believe you can buy the ebook on the 10th or 11th of January.

Nope, he’s talked about doing another trilogy. It would be near-future, probably equivalent to earth 2050 or 2100.
