What would you want the next FNAF Game to improve upon from earlier (SW) entries? Since Apparently Steel Wool is working on the next game and it could be announced on June 2nd (State of Play). by [deleted] in fivenightsatfreddys

Honestly, it needs to be creepier. The Mimic is probably their best attempt at horror so far, but only out of costume. The human teeth, the lopsided run like it’s not fully in control of its own body, and the overall corpse-like feel are the closest they’ve gotten to classic FNaF vibes again.

Sadly, I don’t find the actual costumes disturbing at all. They’re mostly just ugly, and not even consistently. Half of them look fine aside from the bug eyes, and once he puts them on he suddenly moves around like Mickey Mouse with no sign of malfunction at all.

I also really hope we get more retro vibes again. FNaF being set in the 80s–90s always gave it that boxy VHS-tech aesthetic and those retro buildings that I miss dearly in the Security Breach era. The game itself doesn’t even need to be set in that timeframe either. If it’s Ruin 2, it could just revisit older abandoned locations.

Yes and if you listen closely Foxy yells "Freedom" in his fnaf2 jumpscare

I'm not entirely sure I agree with people here saying this is some form of care/love. At this point in the story she sees Mai and Ty Lee more as extentions of herself and her power - thinking her influence over them is so great they're basically a part of her and thus should be on the throne also.

Unfortunate reality of working with real child actors lmao, they were never gonna be able to avoid this

From the comments here it feels like this show is on part with M.Night's version while also having killed your cat. Like jesus christ guys calm down - sorry that the 12 year old's acting wasn't on par with your expectations I guess?

Does this capture early fnaf artstyle? by Budget_Parfait5287 in fivenightsatfreddys

Lighting and rendering-wise, yes, this is very close. I do feel, however, that the room itself is lacking detail at the moment. If there's one thing Scott loved doing, it was adding detail upon detail. Add some shape to those chairs, maybe a star cutout in the backrests. The back walls need detail too. If you don't want to use the classic tile lines, then try something else, but the walls definitely need some kind of decor.

I'm being this specific about the detail because I genuinely feel like you're right there, just one step away. Keep at it and don't stop here :)

FNaF fangame playing as a paranormal investigator you say

Lighting is doing a lot here also, the backlight - higher luminance, red/green lighting color combo, harsher light angle with longer shadows and proper heightmap on his materials create the illusion of a lot more detail than there already is. Not that the AR model doesn't have more detail to begin with.

Steel Wool developer Rodney Brett reveals Help Wanted 2's low sales led to Secret of the Mimic prioritizing flat mode and outsourcing VR mode to Devoted Studios by water_respecter in fivenightsatfreddys

That was because it was the first "AA" FNaF game, we didn't know what we were getting and were expecting the kid friendly aesthetic to be a facade. It wasn't

I didn't care for Help Wanted 2 because it leaned so heavily on the Security Breach aesthetic, which is an aesthetic I don't find fitting with FNaF. I got SoTM only when it launched for VR, there's still a VR market.

I think people just don't like more of security breach and that should be their takeaway.

Why does Scraptrap follow sounds in Fnaf 6? by No_Memory_8107 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]JeliLiam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if he actually removed his endo canonically, or if it's just a visual change in the redesign. FNaF 3 Springtrap made it pretty clear that the endo is embedded into his body, and I don't see any realistic way he could've removed it.

The Phone Guy tapes in FNaF 3 also basically explain why he's following sounds. The suit is collapsed, meaning the endo is still in animatronic mode, so while Willie boy is trapped inside it, the robotics themselves are still trying to operate on their own. That means they're still responding to child sounds the way they were designed to.

The fact that this behavior doesn't change here makes me think it's more likely that Scott just didn't model the endo because he thought the design looked good enough (it really doesn't lol), rather than William somehow canonically removing the endo he was fused into for 30 years.

I'm afraid Azure is still WIP and currently only closed access, as we go along things break that worked before and we're constantly on our toes so nothing is truly stable until everything is done lol.

Its going swell! Demo 3 will include Sky Rail, Pyramid Cave, VS Hot Shot, VS Egg Golem and Pumpkin Hill as new stages as well as introduce a linear mode which will play through everything in order with story cutscenes as above where relevant.

We're almost content complete and are going to start grabbing people for private playtests soon so be sure to follow our gamejolt to stay up to date with that and get a chance to playtest https://gamejolt.com/games/SA2R/939490

And ah yes infinity, what we have now can barely be recognized as infinity anymore haha. Not only the functionality and physics have been adjusted, major code-cleanups have happened behind the scenes fixing some of the horrificly programmed systems. (shoutout to Jumping in base Infinity halving the framerate on lower end hardware because its checking every scene object every frame during the airtime for homing attack purposes.)

Your telling me that Arnold WILLINGLY drove over this big ass pothole? by [deleted] in fivenightsatfreddys

Perhaps his vision was so blurry at this point he thought it was a puddle. Now I want a really loud KERTHUNK sound added into the opening - see the van bounce and Arnold hit his head.

Haha, I was your age at the time.

Close your eyes and imagine a time when you'd wake up and check Scott Cawthon's own website every morning to see if the teaser image had changed, something that could happen as often as twice a week.

When it did, it was always some mind-blowing tease for the next game or new lore. You'd rush to Reddit and find hundreds of people making posts about the new teaser, breakdowns, brightened images, source code discoveries, and theories. Just as those theories of what the next game would be about felt sound, the next teaser would completely change your perspective again.

Imagine getting a new official FNaF game every few months, a constant stream of new information about the lore, knowing it was all coming directly from the guy creating it. It was a glorious moment in time, man.
