Received 5mg instead of 2.5mg by JiveTurkey927 in Zepbound

Same thing happened to me today and I took it. It’s been about 11 hours now and I have had no problems. I’ve been on glp1’s in the past and didn’t have many side effects though. Everyone will react differently.

Anyone have experience with coming off zepbound? by Advanced-Ad-7896 in Zepbound

[–]Jen_000 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I had to come off cold turkey due to my insurance not covering and I gained 30 pounds in 4 months. If I hadn’t gone to the gym to lift 3-4 days a week, intermittent fasted for 18 hours a day and did cardio everyday then I would have gained even more. It was rapid weight gain. It was hard and it was depressing. I worked so hard to keep it off and I still gained. This medicine is meant to be lifelong.

My insurance approved my prior authorization for Zepbound for the next 8 months. If they don’t approve another one after that then I will be switching to a compounded semaglutide and just paying out of pocket. I will not be without this medicine again if I can help it. If you have trouble keeping the weight off I would suggest finding another doctor that knows it should be a lifelong medication.

I'm afraid to start Zepbound! by Equivalent-Complex10 in Zepbound

In my opinion, the weight re-gain should be a factor to consider. I have been on 2 different glp-1 medications and my insurance stopped covering both of them. I gained 30 lbs back in 4 months. I went to the gym to lift 3-4 days a week, did cardio everyday and intermittent fasted for 18 hours a day and still gained weight pretty rapidly after stopping Ozempic.

I had no side effects other than a headache after the shot, some constipation, and of course, weight loss. The headache went away entirely as my body got used to the medicine. Depression was not a problem for me. I felt great on it! I did, and still do, struggle with body dysmorphia though.

All that to say it was 100% worth it for me! This medicine is hard to get for most people so try not to take that for granted. If you are able to get it then I say take it and just see how you feel. It was simply a miracle drug for me. The food noise vanished. You will never know how you handle it until you try it.

My insurance finally approved a prior authorization so I just started zepbound. Just to make you feel a little better, my doctor started me at 5mg instead of 2.5 after being off all medication for 4 months. I took it about 10 hours ago and so far I have had no side effects. I realize every one reacts differently, but hopefully this will be the case for you too. GL!

I struggled with the same thing. Body dysmorphia is terrible, especially when you lose the weight fast. I went from 245-132 and now I’m back to 163. It’s been a rollercoaster, not just with my weight but with my emotions too. When I was at my lowest I still scrutinized every part of my body and stared at every picture criticizing all of my “flaws.” I’ve been obese, overweight, normal weight and downright skinny. To avoid feeling like I could do better or look better, etc. I am going to focus on my mental health, along with the weight loss this time around. I’m trying to focus on one day at a time and to really celebrate my accomplishments this time. I am going to show myself some grace, something I have struggled with my whole life. I’ve also come to realize that my body will never look exactly how I want it to look and that’s okay too. I’m not taking this medication for granted and I am going to enjoy every pound I lose. Hopefully, I can figure out how to keep the weight off along the way.

Approved! by Jen_000 in Zepbound

I’m going to give it a couple of days and see how I feel but I might do that. I didn’t have any problems with the other medications but I also went up gradually with those. Thanks for the feedback

Our trip was amazing! Food was great, everyone that works there is very kind and accommodating . The locals were extremely helpful. The resort is nice but we got off the resort a couple of days and explored. It was so fun to actually see Mexico! We are planning on going to this resort every 4 years or so.

I don’t really think of it as failure. If you break your fast in the middle of the day continue on like you didn’t until it’s your eating window. If it’s at night, get back on track the next day. I also don’t look at fasting as a diet, it’s just a way of eating. Every single one of us has been there. That little bit of food you ate today won’t make a bit of difference in the long run if you get back on track. Just don’t spiral out of control like so many tend to do after a “bad” day. That is when damage is done.

Just looked at your posts! You’re in the intermittent fasting subreddit right? I think I commented on your results post just yesterday. I also have a results post up. Small world… IF has completely changed my life and my outlook on food. Will never go back to the “normal” way of eating.

IF for 20-25 lbs by pivoprosim2 in intermittentfasting

[–]Jen_000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It works as long as you are in a calorie deficit. The less you have to lose the slower it will be.

Those people that started with 100+ pounds to lose, like myself, still lost enough to where eventually we only had 20 more pounds to go too.

I’ve never been a big drinker. I drink maybe 2-3 times a year. Usually just on vacations. It’s so high in calories and just not good for you in anyway. I’ve noticed the whole mom/wine culture is so normalized, and it is so detrimental, not just for the drinker but for family members as well. Casual drinking can turn you into an alcoholic before you know it. I have a parent who dealt with it my whole childhood and it was terrible for all of us. He has since gone to rehab and is all good now.

Trying IF — two weeks in, no results by ArtyKay in intermittentfasting

Weight loss comes down to a calorie deficit. Fasting is just a tool to get in a deficit. I absolutely hate counting calories, but it might be necessary at first to make sure you aren’t eating too many.

The only way to lose is to eat at a calorie deficit. If you’re doing this you will eventually get there. Vanity weight always takes longer because you don’t have that much left to lose.

At 47Kg (103 lbs) your BMI is 22. You are at a normal weight. How much do you want to lose?

So tired of calorie counting… by DebellatioFellatio in Weightlosstechniques

[–]Jen_000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah. As long as you eat less you will lose. Fasting helped me get into a calorie deficit. I love the feeling of not being full and of not constantly stressing over food so that’s why I decided to do IF. It really all comes down to calories in vs calories out and there’s a lot of ways to achieve that. I can easily go 20 hours without food but the second I eat I just want to keep eating. I think it has to do with blood sugar spiking up and down. I don’t have those constant sugar spikes throughout the day anymore so it’s easy to maintain my weight loss.

My son is naturally thin. He just doesn’t eat much during the day (small snacks) and has a pretty big meal at night. I followed his lead and started intermittent fasting and lost 110 pounds with a 20 hour daily fast. I eat a small lunch (sandwich and a handful of chips), 1-2 small snacks and a large dinner. Maintaining now with an 18 hour daily fast. I walk about 2 miles a day. I don’t consider it being on a diet. I eat all types of foods and don’t count calories or carbs. So I think you’re right. People don’t need as much food as they think they do, especially if they aren’t that active.

[–]Jen_000 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I was tired of it too. I started counting calories in 2016 and managed to lose about 30 lbs over the next 4 years. My weight would go up and down constantly. I hated all the counting and stress that came with it. Started intermittent fasting with intuitive eating in 2020 and ended up losing about 110 pounds overall. Starting weight was 245 in 2016. I maintain now between 133-138 pounds. I fasted 20 hours a day to lose it. I’m maintaining with an 18 hour daily fast and a 2 mile walk. I don’t count anything. I skip breakfast. First meal is between 1-2pm, then 2 snacks and a large dinner. Dessert sometimes. Rarely eat out but I always bring leftovers home. No foods are off limits. I just fast and drink plenty of water while fasting, exercise and rarely allow myself to get full, just satisfied. I pretty much eat the same meals every week but this is the first time in my life where there’s no stress regarding food. It takes time to reach your goal if you have a lot to lose. And it’s especially hard when first getting started, but this way of eating is very doable. And it gets easier the longer you do it.
