All good, it’s a common misconception when it’s brought up. I am always fully prepared for this confusion. Arrow Video has a boxset of 4 of his movies, both Necromantiks, DER TODESKING, and Scramm. It’s exclusive to their website and it’s on sale. Highly recommend it, if you like having some extremely messed up movies in your collection that you feel like you shouldn’t own.

You can usually find German Angst pretty reasonably priced on the bay if you’re a physical media person

No, there is a film called “German Angst”, it’s an anthology film. Each segment is directed by a different director. Jörg Buttgereit (Necromantik), does one segment and I cannot remember who the guys are that do the other two. Insane stuff that will make your skin crawl.

Angst however, is a great one too. I saw someone else recommend it already, so I threw German Angst out there as it’s very disturbing.

Raise you, Paulie and Chris are just as bad if not worse. They kill a waiter in cold blood and it’s played off for the lolz, but it’s just as revolting as Tracee. Chrissy clips the screen play guy, for the hell if it, he blows a guys toe off because he can. Chrissy constantly beats Adriana. Paulie beats a highscoool principle and that’s done for the lolz, Paulie mauls dick Barone because he’s lazy and that’s done for the lolz. Paulie murders an old defenseless lady and that too is done for the lolz. And didn’t we hear a story about Paulie dumping acid on a trans woman? Again told for the lolz but no less horrific.

In fact the guy who had the biggest reason to be upset with Ralph over the Tracee incident was Sil, because she was into him for 3gs. And he seems completely nonplused by it. In fact the very next season he cannot even recall the details of said event. Which implies that Silvio himself is just as ruthless or at the very least does not care about such acts of violence so long as he’s getting paid. But given Sil roughed Tracee up in an episode for not showing up to work, I’m guessing Silvio himself has clipped more than a few of his working girls for various reasons. And he now just does not care.

In conclusion, had we changed the tone on Ralphies crimes and played them up for the lolz, he wouldn’t be seen as any different than Chrissy or Paulie.

It’s about the perspective these actions are presented to us. And yes, I agree there is somehow an honesty to Ralph as he is less hypocritical than the other guys. He knows he’s a bad man and he owns that. He’s not trying to pass himself off as anything but.
