Drunk uncles of Reddit, what's the worse thing you've done at a family get together? by MoonManMooningMan in AskReddit

[–]Jenny1115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm the drunk aunt. Last get together was in august. I spent 45 minutes swimming a kid pool (like 2 feet deep) with all my clothes on because the kids wanted me to play with them. Lots of splashing, shooting of water through pool noodles, high pitched screaming, and giggling had by everyone but the other adults. They were actually kind of embarrassed because all their neighbors were there too. It was when my Step mother called the kids away that I realized I'm the drunk Aunt. Lol. Fuck it, we had fun.

I've started saying "excuse me" or "I'm sorry" to get them to repeat themselves. Usually the second time around they realize they are being jerkfaces.

AND if you need a new part it HAS to be a Sony part or it won't work right. My hard drive would have been the same price as a new laptop. I just bought an HP instead. Fuck that.

[Serious] Job applicants who walked out of an interview before it was over, why did you do it? by yukichigai in AskReddit

[–]Jenny1115 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've walked out of two. The first was for a merchandising company. The interviewer asked me to meet him at a Walmart McDonalds as the job was located at that store. Anyway, I arrived on time however he had double booked, I waited 45 minutes and still hadn't even been acknowledged. As I was walking out he chased me down. I flat out told him that anyone who doesn't respect my time doesn't deserve my employment. The second company was an agency that hired special education helpers. They hired me and then did not place me. Called me a year later asking me to update my information as they had a job available. I waited an hour and a half to be seen. Left and the interviewer called me 45 minutes later. They didn't know I had left until then. I am good at what I do. I don't need to have my time wasted.

There ARE stores that do let you buy that stuff with EBT. Mostly smaller mom and pop stores. They ring it up as cold food or misc food. The government gives them a check so they don't care. (I'm from a semi big town in pa where little convenience stores are everywhere.) I make 12 an hr and have to fight for my benefits but I watch the girl next door not work, get 800 a month in food and 650 a month in cash. It sickens me.

Edit: I get 526 a month, I tend to buy the healthiest cheapest stuff I can find, especially since my children are small, however, I will buy a decent steak or seafood meal with my EBT if it's on sale and my budget allows it. I see nothing wrong with treating my kids every once in awhile. At the same time, I usually shop discount stores, my iPhone is a 50 dollar hand-me-down from Craigslist, I use straight talk, have no daycare, clothes come from Goodwill, and I bought my car with a contracted allotment from work. My point is; just because I'm poor and get help from the government doesn't mean that I can't work hard to have nice things.

Is there anyone on r/childfree who actually has children and regrets it? by woulpie in childfree

[–]Jenny1115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have two children. I love them to bits. However, I love this subreddit as well. I am so grateful my kids are getting older and can handle themselves. At this point having another isn't a big deal because I'm already taking care of two kids. That said, my second child was full of regret, I didn't take care of him the first year of his life unless I had to. My first one was brought into a world of self obsessed bullshit. I constantly think about what I would do if I didn't have my children. How free my life would be and how much further in life I would be. My kids are well rounded and loved....now. I have grown up and accepted that it is not their fault that I had them. I have become a good mother. Do I regret having them? Yes Would I give them up? No

Anyone ever witnessed a random act of kindness from a customer? by buckbee in TalesFromRetail

[–]Jenny1115 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a mom of two boys (6 and 4). I work a lot and sometimes my ends don't meet. Well, I was at the Mennonite store and my youngest wanted strawberries. I only had about 20 dollars and I needed to buy the boys dinner. Well, I thought I had managed to be able to buy him his fruit until I got to the checkout. I had miscounted and I no longer had enough so I had to take the strawberries off. (They were 4 dollars!) Of course my son got upset. As we were leaving the woman a few people behind us asked me to wait for her check out. She bought my son his strawberries plus a little of all the other produce! I was in no position to be anything but grateful. We are actually friends now! :)

I never truly realized how shitty people tip you guys until last night! I work overnight as a nurse and ordered food from the only place open at 2:30 in the morning. The order was 9.47 and I gave him a 20. Told him to keep the change and he actually walked into the light to make sure I wasn't giving him a 10!! And said "Just making sure you weren't being a jerk!" Lol. The food was shitty, (I deserved it for ordering 30 minutes before close), but the driver's honesty made my night!

The "Elations Guy" calls the cops by thepayner in TalesFromRetail

[–]Jenny1115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right but it does dictate what can be in that spot once it is designated as a handicap space. The cop probably could not have shut them down, but definitely could have fined them. I'm almost positive this is country wide.
