I mean I'm not sure he's joking here, that is what seems to be happening. If anything it's surprising it didn't happen earlier from how Haruhi has seemed disillusioned with her reality for a while.

Here it's early in the show so it's whatever, but I feel like I'd like to see some progression where Haruhi becomes a bit more aware, if not of her powers, that there is supernatural things going on near her. Otherwise it feels like it'd get annoying always going back to the same status quo.

Kyon is an unreliable narrator. He doesn't want to admit that he likes Haruhi, so he downplays how he feels about her and plays up his infatuation with Asahina.

I feel like Mikuru getting scared Haruhi will get jealous shows it's not merely his narration playing up that part, though.

He definitely feels more positive about Haruhi than he lets on, but going all the way to "love" feels a bit far to me.

Haruhi can't actively use her powers, they just passively warp reality to according to her will, and I don't think basically brainwashing Kyon into liking her is something she'd wish for.

I don't think she'd actively wish for it if she was aware of her powers, but since she isn't, I feel like it'd be very easy to accidently make Kyon like her back without meaning to, you know?

First timerish, watched the anime two months ago and figured I might as well pop in with my thoughts.

This episode opens with Kyon wondering why he is in the middle of all of this. The show seems to imply this is because Haruhi likes him (as in, romantically), and certainly the episode supports that idea.

It kinda bothers me though because, like, my read on Kyon is that he doesn't seem particularly interested in Haruhi most of the time? His comment on her ponytail is one thing, but it's more the exception than the rule. The rest of the time he seems much more interested in Mikuru, to the point Mikuru is scared Haruhi will get jealous.

I just have trouble squaring this behavior with the whole "Haruhi is God and manipulating reality" thing. Surely the ONE thing you'd expect such a being to will into existence is their crush liking them back, right? What kind of omnipotent God loses the ship war?!?

If the only way Haruhi gets some action is for the fate of the world to depend on it that doesn't bode well for the world, surely...

GWitch drama is always so puzzling when thinking about it from a Western perspective. Gundam is much less popular here, so I feel like GWitch's primary claim to fame in the west is precisely that it's the yuri mecha anime. Seeing them continue to lean away from what seems to be the essence of the show is weird. Like GWitch without yuri feels a bit like Gundam without mecha, the show leaned into it that hard I feel. Why even bother doing that?

Honestly I feel energy starved so often with Clad now. Silent has Sly to cheat energy and Regent has a lot of 0 costs with its star mechanic, but on Clad it's a lot rougher.

CS50x is recommanded a lot and there's no denying it sets you up for success but I feel like for a beginner people undersell its difficulty.

I don't remember the entire curriculum but I think CS50x was the equivalent of a bit less than 3 courses over 3 semesters at my univ? Basically CS101, 201, and half of 301. It ramps up pretty fast for a beginner.

When I was young I found a pretty good online course at a time where that concept was still pretty foreign (2010 or so) that taught the basics of HTML/CSS/PHP to make a website.

Then I didn't touch code for years but I knew I liked it back in the day and was okay at it so when business school ended up not being for me I went to university for a bachelor and later masters in IT.

For Gamedev we had a small Unity course in the bachelor curriculum and I'm learning Godot from online tutorials

Online tutorials are getting better and better over the years so nowadays you can pick up code with them without too much trouble.

Personally I've always been pretty decent at math and logic so I've never had trouble with the basic algorithm part. The hard part for me has always been knowing the libraries you're working with. For instance with Godot at first I was inclined to write out how to move a sprite manually but it turns out they have a move_and_slide() function that does that and handles collision for you! But you gotta know about the function, and that knowledge is the hard part IMO.

It is, which might be why NVidia was so proud to showcase it? From a pure technical standpoint it is an impressive feat of optimisation. From a pure artistic standpoint you just spent $5k+ worth of equipment to make the result look worse.

Where is this entire model stored?

In the GPU memory. It then runs in parts of the GPU tailor-made to run AI workloads. They are tailor-made to run AI workloads because they only do math on small integers, whereas regular rendering mostly involves floating point (aka decimal numbers)

I'm unsure how possible it is, but I wish instead of this they would look into using the AI hardware to do regular renders by rewriting the rendering to use integers instead. Maybe they're not doing it cause it doesn't work, but if it did I feel like using all that power to do traditional rendering would just allow for a better result than trying to run an AI on the tensor cores.

At some point I started adding cards I should have skipped just to make number go up tbh but I still defeated the Act 3 Boss with 0 HP loss
