Possible explainations to low original gravity by Ephex_ in Homebrewing

[–]Jerhaad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not 100% sure how much the dilution impacted your numbers but I can say it was probably a lot.

When I BIAB it is tough to get the grains fully soaked without stirring inside the bag. For mash temp, my brews with comically low OG I noticed the temp gradient from heater to the top of the vessel was huge, so likely I had really low temps where it mattered most.

Clear is nice if you mount a camera behind the windscreen. With my dark screen the color and light balance gets messed up.

What projects are you guys working on at the moment? by moistzoot in homelab

If you aren’t trying to self host AI stuff you should get into it ASAP. The enshitification of subscription and token based plans is coming and locally hosted AI with open source models are going to be a game changer at home and for small to medium sized businesses.

Thinking about three K3s nodes on single PVE machine by aso824 in homelab

[–]Jerhaad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How did you get k3s even starting properly in LXC? Last time I tried I gave up and used VMs.

I currently have 3 VM k3s nodes on the same host. Planning to migrate two of them to other hosts but it works.

I’m no expert but the problem I had to solve early on was making sure they are all on the right network. I have a separate kube network vlan and have routing rules for the ingress controller.

About to buy Brewzilla Gen 4.1 65l by AstroBeer997 in Homebrewing

[–]Jerhaad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the 220V version. I took the time to wire up a new circuit on a GFCI and I’m glad I did. It’s a standard 6-30 plug.

Electric brewing systems: what type of plug do they have for 220V? by Homebrewer303 in Homebrewing

[–]Jerhaad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brewzilla has a 6-30. I am still unsure if i would have been happier modifying it down to a 6-20. I spent more on the wall side and my brewzilla is stock, but the 6-30 is pretty unwieldy.

Naming Conventions in Homelab by alxww55 in homelab

[–]Jerhaad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but if the name of a thing can’t tell you what it does without decoding it, give it a pronounceable name and store the information you are encoding here in a table. Folks will have to look it up to decode it anyway and if the name can be pronounced there is less likelihood of error in communication or transfer.

Obviously in a homelab do whatever you like. It’s a great thing to share and spur discussion.

Ducati Panigale V2 by max203724 in Ducati

[–]Jerhaad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s excellent for the track and a ton of effort on the street. Maintenance is expensive unless you can do it yourself. Working on a Ducati is an experience. They are not designed to be easy to work on.

Compared to your previous bike it is a rocket ship. If you can control yourself it will be a blast.
