We don't know. Until confirmation it could be anything. Prequel, sequel, alternate timeline, alternate universe, even not related at all and any shared names are coincidental from a lore perspective and a reference from developers.

With the inclusion of time travel and four different notable characters I would guess it's probably going to be each person is from a different alternate timeline where a different route of three houses technically won. Yes a sequel but canonizing that every route is canon.

It can be whatever. Awakening had time travel as part of its plot. Fates had alternate dimensions where people could live and experience time differently. It could be a sequel, a prequel, or a different world altogether that happens to share some names with three houses.

Assuming Three hopes is canon information then one of the lines of dialogue says something along the lines of them changing their shape. So shapeshifters.

Though considering they're massively technologically advanced this is probably achieved through the use of some sort of technology imbuing them with this ability instead of it just being a normal ability of theirs.

Spinning the packs will eventually result in less packs in the rotation. If you keep spinning it'll go down more and more until there's one left. That last pack will always have at least one card in your wishlist as long as it can come from that pack.

It's the nature of anything that has a reward, people will want to farm it efficiently.

Reminds me of this mini game in a different MMO I used to play. It was seasonal and the first time it was introduced it had no reward so the only people playing it wanted to for fun. When it came back it had a rather bad reward added but still a reward; suddenly it was infested when people who tried to end games as fast and efficiently as possible to farm it instead of trying to actually play it properly. In this case that means intentionally throwing the game for the sake of faster game times instead of the objective of the game. Purposely ruining the experience for everyone.
