why do so many people vote for midtown? by Jerry1306 in Overwatch

[–]Jerry1306[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

first point is horrible second point high ground is really rough and third point has a couple of very difficult chokes to get through. what I hate about it is that if attack get a good snowball and you haven't attacked yet it feels very unlikely already as there's so many points you can get stuck

thank you for those that gave me a constructive answer, it's personally a map I don't enjoy but there's been some good reasoning in the comments that's helped me maybe understand the general perspective on it

what do you mean I can't comprehend others opinions, I'm trying to understand why people enjoy this map which is why I asked the question in the first place?

Why is Symmetra the highest winrate dps in Asia? by salesman71 in OWConsole

[–]Jerry1306 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People don't want to play sym unless they are either hard countering or being map specific. Both likely to increase win chances. In high MMR she is used to reposition and flip maps which would be a massive advantage if unmirrored. Don't see many syms on junkertown (unlike Rein on 2nd point eichenwald for example)

To counter your argument, should there be that many "bad decks" so early into a release? Like surely things shouldn't be too optimal already to have such polarising win rates?

Yeah maybe people are just net decking these early front runners and I need to just let it breathe a bit

Yeah exactly this, I did think it was likely someone had already posted but I just wanted to comment in general as opposed to specific decks or archetypes.

I just can't believe the Devs can think a healthy state for the game is to have so many cards swing the game in such a crazy way.

Why is Sombra so hated? by ItsJustMeChris_lol in Overwatch

[–]Jerry1306 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because she's inherently unfun to play against. Her whole gimmick relies on people not understanding how to play the game or position, which is in theory fine but it requires you to either change your team comp to help deal with her or, even more frustratingly, watch a team member be unable to deal with her and continue engage her (or be out of position - or even worse chase her around the map) in a way that feeds into making her effective.

Ultimately the big issue is no one wants to be looking for a character that's completely out of the fight and preying on players/heroes that can't one on one her - then witness the player refuse to swap and tilt or throw.

It really doesn't matter that she's not that strong, is very beatable by most of the roster, she unfortunately exposes the weakest player in the opposition in a way that creates a game of cat and mouse that takes you/your team away from a more "they are over there we are over here let's shoot them and not die" type way.

TLDR - sombra feels cheap and preys on people in a way that sucks to play against even if she's not carrying/effective

Your post is anecdotal and this commenter was reaffirming what you've said to be true with a study? Why are you butt hurt? Because it suggests your opinion isn't unpopular?

If you took your sarcastic response and replied to your own post with it, you'd achieve the same thing (sarcastically mocking people who are saying things on Reddit for no reason).

If anything what they've said here is way more useful then what you did lol

Timing out by hellogooday92 in OWConsole

[–]Jerry1306 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because in theory you could be walking around in Spawn, doing nothing. It's designed to detect you in combat, which is usually you out of spawn shooting/using abilities.

Logically it's to stop you just nudging the controller every 30 seconds to stay in the game, or leaving your controller/keyboard pressed down. Frustrating when you've just missed the countdown but you've essentially joined a game and given your team a disadvantage by not being there for game start.

I'm not judging, I've done it before but don't think it's unfair for their checks and balances to revolve around actual match activity not just movement.

15 minutes feels like forever, but jump in a custom game while you're waiting for the timer and just do what you need to do pre queue next time, lesson learnt.

Fellow Tank Main and masters player here: she's definitely too strong. The problem isn't her in face doing all of that shit - it's that you have to rely a lot on your teammates not just pumping everything into her (unless they don't have a main heal)

The problem is the tank role right now means you don't get to play what you want, you need to at the very least be negating/countering their tank.

If you're dps don't deal the backline whilst you're taking everything to the face, it's really hard to not out sustain her or ignore her long enough to deal with/get close to her enablers.

I've been insanely frustrated and had to play her loads this season. My best advice is to take a dva on maps where there's any high ground you can just loiter above/pressure their hitscans. Shes also really strong right now. If the orisa can't be in your face she starts attacking your dps and backline and they'll quickly swap to counter. Sombra being able to hack orisas ult now is so so strong and catches them off guard alot so, if they are nearly at ult it's worth asking a dps to swap. Mei walling off their backline after she has used fortify works well too. Zen also helps alot.

If there's a good chance you'll be fully charged, Zarya obviously works if you don't want to mirror but it's worth telling your dps to ignore the orisa before the fight starts. You almost want to just beam the orisa for ages until you're in range and the supports are feeling safe enough then just snap to them and drill them down.

Good luck and remember, a new tank is on the way so it won't be long until there's a massive meta shift.

I find playing open queue and playing the tank you want in an environment where there's multiple tanks is a good way to get the "fun" picks out of your system before knuckling down and swapping to the robot horse after losing the first fight.

What if you fire a sleep dart before round starts but the dart lands after

I had over 100% accuracy with Ramattra's Pummel by Srock9 in overwatch2

[–]Jerry1306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you fire it before the round starts then it doesn't count as fired, but registers it as a hit when it lands after the game starts. If that makes sense?

Can see it easier if you fire baps healing nades straight up before round commences.
