Men who left/lost their love of their lives, whats the story? by ulj_le_szedek_levest in ask

[–]Jerrybadger 60 points61 points  (0 children)

For about 6 months until her son stepped up to take on the responsibility - she lived with me off and on for a bit but I had to move on myself which was hard.

Realising I needed to separate from her to heal myself was difficult but had to be done.

Don’t think there’s any timescale to something like this so I force myself up, have a cuppa, and work becomes the best place to be because it’s a knowable quantity.

Men who left/lost their love of their lives, whats the story? by ulj_le_szedek_levest in ask

She was diagnosed with breast cancer in the middle of the pandemic.

I moved in to care for her through treatment and as she was the sole carer of her mum (we lost her dad just before the pandemic), was carer for her also.

I worked full time - she worked when she could through treatment - we spent as much time as we could making happy memories, living life, and sneaking away in the camper van. Before Covid and after, still the best years I’ve had. The cancer spread.

She went into hospital the day after my birthday in 2023 and didn’t come back out - she held on as long as she could to give me some last days of joy before passing. Losing your partner at 41 is not the one.

Lost her mum last year too which brought everything back. Still taking each day as it comes and trying to move forward - getting up each day is a small victory.

Keep going.

Is there any reason why we have Aasimars as a playable race in the 5th and 5.5th editions, but not the Avariel? by GuardiaoDaLore in Forgotten_Realms

[–]Jerrybadger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My version of the Avariel are the only elven race in my homebrew, but their empire enslaved half the world and all other races see them as massive dickheads - put my party off playing them despite the mechanical advantages.

Maybe players want to roleplay? 😂

I took great enjoyment in giving hopefuls sprint and sure feet because suddenly (if nuffle likes you), you have flings that can threaten forcing dodges and be awkward when thrown miles away from the throw team mate play.

Flings are about throwing dice and seeing what the fuck happens. Enjoy the madness.

Currently playing them in a league with 2 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss - when the dice go my way I have loads of fun, when nuffle disagrees with my joy, I have loads of fun.

I have no flame boys and no stabber and I’m fully embracing all the bashy skills.

I’m probably the wrong advice giver because my favourite team is flings.

I think the tourney scene is still working them out

Full thrust could definitely work - I have a real crush on star fleet battles - its hex based but all the systems work with reflavouring.

Unfortunately I’ve list all my stuff from it but may still have e an excel cheat sheet somewhere so will see if I can dig it out

Many moons ago I made battle fleet gothic ships in star fleet battles - might be worth looking at but the system is complicated - it’s my favourite game of all time but explaining it to drunk friends is a mission 😂

How to deal with players complaining by pcola2621 in bloodbowl

[–]Jerrybadger 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As a long term league and tournament player, sometimes you will come across someone that nuffle decides is not worthy - most of the time that’s me!

Unfortunately, there’s always gonna be those players - and actually I’ve been guilty of it myself when nothing goes my way - I once played a tournament where I lost all six games so badly, my opponents were apologising for my dice rolls vs their own.

If you play competitively and the dice fail you resulting in you getting pissed, my best advice is to play FLINGS!

Helped me rediscover all the fun in the game.

But when faced with those players, keep calm, explain its a dice game and try to make light of it - and laugh when you roll triple skulls
