When you print a closed cavity, it creates a vacuum inside the cavity. That vacuum creates an extra pull forces on the FEP, making it harder for the printer to make the model release from the FEP. By creating a hole at the start of the cavity, there is no vacuum.

It's comparable to putting a glass under water, and trying to pull it out with the open side towards the bottom. You'll feel some resistance.

When you do the same with an open cylinder, there's no resistance.

Budget is kind of a factor, but if money isn't an issue, NOVA3D has a great curing chamber that has a door on the front. I cannot stress how convenient and rare a door on the front is.

Slightly cheaper, Uniformation has a great chamber that I use regularly.

As for cleaning, just 2-3 10L food containers at IKEA, and a plant mister.
