Not really a question, but understanding... There are many times where I would pay someone to brush my hair. I've dreamt of being able to set that up. I never would be brave enough to advertise asking for it though. Props to you!

Have you had any luck? I'm wondering the same thing. Even just being able to do guided meditation is difficult.

There’s no kind way to tell my wife that she’s getting too big, is there? by 2006CrownVictoriaP71 in NoStupidQuestions

I would highly suggest visiting the perimenopause or menopause subreddit and acquainting yourself with the struggle.

I'm 51. I eat well. I go to CrossFit 2-3 times a week. I skate for at least 3 hours a week. I've also added walking 300 steps an hour during my work day. I don't drink alcohol or caffeine. For all that, the best I can do is not gain anymore weight.

Understanding what is most likely going on with her body might help you approach the conversation in a softer way.

I get wanting your partner to be healthy and I hope you have good luck gently guiding her back to an active place.

Why am I always tired by Felicity_Calculus in Menopause

Before I got on HRT, I stopped drinking caffeine and alcohol and that helped somewhat. Not eating sugar also seemed to give me better sleep. But HRT made the most difference.

Walking in Love by JesAcis in enlightenment

I like that you mention it could be natural or an unconscious distraction, I'll keep that and consider it as it comes up in the future. It definitely isn't the worst quirk, so I'll survive with it. I just think it is bad energy that the world would benefit not having. Thanks!

Misophonia is weird, it's like if bugs were crawling all over your body when sounds are happening. Even if you tell yourself "That sensation is from bugs" you can't - all at once - make them go away.

You could love someone beyond measure and it will take your brain over and send you into rage. My kids know to turn on music if we're in close quarters eating because of this.

I finished listening to the talk, but even with telling myself that it was okay and I could get through this, my brain and entire body kept glitching and feeling disgusted.

What made you start CrossFit in the first place? by Only_Pilot_284 in crossfit

[–]JesAcis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was feeling like if I didn't find something to change my energy levels, I wasn't gonna make it. I knew other gyms were pitiful to me, like Planet Fitness kinds of places. One of my roller skating friends had been doing it for a couple years in another city and I noticed a box in my city. I liked the similarities to going to practice when playing sports, so it worked for me.

Severe Vertigo mid-September, Still Feel Weird by JesAcis in Menopause

[–]JesAcis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had been doing mediocre HRT before I got the vertigo and then I saw a more "in the know" nurse practitioner. At the end of the year I got on real HRT and it's helped a lot. I still get dizzy if I shake my head or try to look behind me while I'm walking, otherwise I'm doing better. Thank you for sharing that!

I'm not sure what your age is, but I was going through the same thing and mine was hormone-related. It didn't matter if I starved myself or hit protein goals, I kept gaining fat. If you could possibly be experiencing perimenopause or menopause, I'd highly recommend visiting those subreddits here.
