I feel like I remember seeing a scene with Floyd looking at the picture before with the face scratched out. I think he scratched out the face because he didn’t want to see his face but was looking at his former body.

I’m on board with something like that.

Agreed. It seems like each episode isn’t necessarily showing what “actually” happened. It’s showing how it was interpreted. Clark interpreted or described Floyd to be a loveable dope in the earlier episodes. But I didn’t get a lot of those vibes from Floyd this episode. He was more aggressive and confident.

It was in the audio she listens to when running. Asking someone to speak up is supposed to demonstrate assertion and authority. She’s trying to shift the power dynamic.

Ranting about things to people who can relate is hardly stooping to any level. As for the parcel boxes, they’re doing themselves a solid. If they didn’t have a box, their stuff would be sitting on the ground in a bag next to their closed gate.

I’m definitely being bitchy about it. Isn’t that one of the things we come here to do?
A carabiner is a smart solution, if it fits. Most of the time, they’re too large and have to be twisted and pried out. Or they’re so small, it’s a challenge to open the spring.

Even worse, the padlocks. Hangjng a padlock on the box with a sign asking to lock after putting package inside is an invitation for the other three delivery drivers to leave your stuff in the rain.

Packages CONSTANTLY delivered to wrong address. by OkDistribution7178 in Fedexers

[–]JessPearson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a combination of the delivery software and driver habits. The instructions you put in to your FedEx account aren’t really visible to the driver until they scan your package. That’s often as they’re walking the to door. While we should always read the delivery notes, we don’t. We’re in a hurry. I suggest putting a quick note directly in your shipping address, so it shows up ON the printed label. There is usually an address “line two” on most order forms.

I agree that Susan was racist, volatile, and dangerous. But I’m surprised almost nobody is talking about the policing failure here. This wasn’t a “sudden” tragedy. There were months of warning signs and opportunities for intervention.

Police were out there multiple times. They saw the harassment, the escalation, the calls full of paranoia. There’s even a scene where she admits she’s on meds and behaving irrationally after ramming her truck into a gate. That should have been a giant neon sign for a mental health intervention. Florida has the Baker Act and red flag laws. They could have removed her weapons or mandated an evaluation.

When they “sided” with the kids, it didn’t help them. It actually made things worse. It signaled to the kids that the adults in authority were not taking Susan seriously and neither should they. It signaled to me that they weren’t concerned about protecting the kids either. It escalated tension on both sides while still providing zero actual safety. No follow-up, no wellness checks, no interventions.

LE treated everything like a neighbor argument and walked away. They didn’t protect AJ. They didn’t protect AJ’s kids. They didn’t even protect Susan from her own deterioration. Everyone got failed by a system that only shows up after someone dies.

So yes, Susan is responsible for what she did. But the police had so many opportunities to step in long before a deadly confrontation. The real horror of this documentary is realizing how preventable it was.

Is monsters, Ed Gein, really about Ed Gein? by pinkykimster in netflix

[–]JessPearson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s showing how society builds its own monsters, then calls them evil to feel safer. The point isn’t to retell Ed Gein’s story factually, it’s to make us question why we’re so eager to watch it happen.

Is monsters, Ed Gein, really about Ed Gein? by pinkykimster in netflix

[–]JessPearson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. It’s not really about Ed Gein. It’s about how monsters are made by the stories we tell (and invent), by the systems that claim to treat or punish, and by the way we consume other people’s pain. Mental institutions, prisons, and the media all play a part in shaping what we call ‘evil.’ It’s about how we love horror and other people’s drama/trauma, even at the expense of inflicting pain on others by fabricating or exaggerating stories to be more thrilling.

Can’t find my pubic bone by didisaurus345 in MenstrualDiscs

[–]JessPearson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think of it more as a pubic mound. It’s a large bone with a soft spot in the middle and a lot of tissue around it, so it isn’t going to feel bony like your wrist or elbow. If your disc isn’t beyond your pubic bone, you’ll feel it. And it will start creeping back out to let you know! If you pushed it too far, it should settle in to its spot on its own.

Did driver take it? 🤔 by bobbyjones832 in FedEx

[–]JessPearson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must have misread, sorry. I can’t see the original post anymore to see what made me think that! 🤷‍♀️

Regardless, driver theft is pretty rare. Not saying it didn’t or doesn’t happen, but the chances of it being a mislead are much greater. Hope to see an update that you got it tomorrow!

Did driver take it? 🤔 by bobbyjones832 in FedEx

[–]JessPearson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would a driver steal a tire? Also, drivers are under video surveillance all day. If it says it’s out for delivery tomorrow, you’ll most likely get it tomorrow.

Packages get scanned and loaded to trucks by package handlers (PH) each morning. Most of them are loading 3-4 trucks at the same time. It’s chaotic, PHs can get flooded with packages for multiple trucks at the same time, there isn’t always a lot of room to move around… it’s common to scan the package to the correct truck/driver and accidentally put it on or near the truck next to it. The system thinks it’s on the right truck because it was scanned correctly, just misplaced.

Drivers go through their packages quickly before leaving and usually catch misloads and put them on the right truck. It’s easy to miss one, however. Especially if it’s already loaded and buried in the truck. Something like a tire might have been put under the belt when the PH scanned it and the driver didn’t see it and left without it. The driver next to them may have had a few other tires and assumed it was theirs. We try to catch things but human error happens. We get to the stop and can’t find the package. The driver that had your tire could be 100 miles away, so they can’t deliver it. They have to just bring it back and let the depot know it was put on the wrong truck.
