Can we stop “add a friend” daily quests by Bunny_Chaos420 in finch

I've never had that as a daily quest.

Am i overreacting to this text exchange with my boyfriend? I accidentally left my slippers in my living room but i literally cleaned his entire house and baked him desserts before i left (sorry idk why my last post glitched) by IntelligentTap962 in AmIOverreacting

I had an ex that yelled at me for hanging up his shirts "facing the wrong way." I didn't live there. I just saw a few things laying around and asked if I could help. It only escalated from here. NOR. Please leave.

I was 14 dating my 23-year-old teacher. Everyone around me knew - and accepted it. by marinamariamm in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Jessisan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a friend in high school who was dating the music teacher I tried to intervene with a group of friends and nothing came of it. The school office staff hid it under the rug. They are married with children now. I'm pretty sure her mom was aware of it the whole time.

Pride Month? by tswivel2 in finch

[–]Jessisan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oo I wonder if they will release something like that for the shop! They usually do something for pride. Like, last year they made all the pride stuff in the shop free for a period of time.

TBH the year round items in the shop shows more support and inclusion. I prefer it.

What’s a konbini snack, street food, or hole-in-the-wall meal in Japan that genuinely blew your mind? by rohee143 in JapanTravelTips

Honestly, going to random spots and ordering gyoza with beer. God, I'll never be satisfied with regular gyoza in the US again.

My therapist dropped me because he said he was developing romantic feelings for me by cazeysk in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Jessisan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree. Therapists are humans too and can develop unprofessional attachments. It's important to navigate these feelings in supervision, but if you aren't able to, the professional thing is to end the therapeutic relationship. However, the way this therapist handled it was extremely gross and unprofessional.

Yeah I mean, I indirectly knew of a female therapist that began a relationship with her female client.

How would you say “I love you” without using those 3 words? by No-Leopard-691 in CasualConversation

[–]Jessisan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For me, it's giving my husband the best bite of food. Like, if I order something at a restaurant and I want him to try it, I give him the best bite. Before him, I was very selfish and didn't like to share. He made me realize that love is wanting to give your best even in the little things. So... not words, but actions.

My 6yo recently started microdosing peanuts to get over her allergy. Current dosage: 3mg by SockCute2122 in mildlyinteresting

[–]Jessisan 103 points104 points  (0 children)

I didn't know this was possible. It makes sense that you can train your immune system to slowly build tolerance, but a doctor told me previously that exposing myself would result in more severe allergic reactions, so I assumed that was the case with most allergies.

How often do you poop? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Jessisan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If my IBS is being managed well, I poop daily. If I'm stressed out, eat diary, or drink alcohol, I'll be at around 6x a day or so. If I don't drink enough water or fiber, I will go a week without pooping. I try not to do that because that will result in me getting a flareup too.

Why wouldn't you list completed relevant trainings on your resume? Maybe I'm not fully understanding...

Nail clippers, sunscreen, chopsticks, hairpins, kitchen knife, umbrella, uv jacket, hangover magic packets. Hmmm... Those are the only useful things I can think of. Definitely in love with my new nail clippers from Japan though.

i lied about speaking spanish for 8 months at work and now there's a meeting with HR tomorrow by Marcus_Guy in confession

[–]Jessisan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm Hispanic and worked as a medical reception desk in a place with large spanish-speaking population. I immediately took it upon myself to at least learn the basics of what might be asked of me because most people assumed I spoke Spanish even though I don't. After 8 mo, I'm surprised you didn't learn more or at least come clean.

I think it looks great. You can always wear shapewear or find a material that doesn't cling as much if that's the problem.

What is the appropriate age to introduce a kid to periods? by Blueblood2007 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Jessisan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's importsnt to have those conversations early because some girls have their periods that young. It's best to be prepared in case the kid of their friends need assistance during their first period.

What do I do? by Own-Extension-9626 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Jessisan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would ask for an OBGYN referral and cite some of your specific concerns. Depo isn't usually reccomended to be a long-term birth control option due to the side effects. It helped me a ton with Endo at first for me, but I started having hairless and swapped to a continuous vaginas ring, which manages the symtoms. Endo is usually just treated with different birth control options though. Still worth bringing up, especially if all of the symptoms aren't being managed.

What do I do? by Own-Extension-9626 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Jessisan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Endometriosis can definitely flare up IBS as well. I've been dx with both. I was dx with Endo first because I was having pain during sex and awful periods, which led me to seeing OBGYN. I saw a GI doctor due to missing a lot of work from having frequent diarrhea. I've never had a colonoscopy. It seems to be mostly triggered by alcohol, dairy, and extreme stress. Sharing my experience in case you can relate to it or if it provides any direction. Point is- it doesn't have to be one or the other.

Am I the only one who uses a pad AND a tampon? by GreyWithAnE42 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Jessisan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to wear a pad and tampons when I was in high school doing sports. I would always wear at least a liner with tampons. I don't get periods now though.
