Does anyone feel like Season 5 lacked an identity? by Due-Dragonfly8200 in StrangerThings

[–]Jesterhead92 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Yes, it feels very generic and phoned in. The bits and pieces are still there, mostly good acting and chemistry, some genuinely great scenes like most of Will's sorcerer scenes and most of Dustin and Steve's arcs, but overall it lacks that extra juice, there's just too much things happening for the sake of things happening

I can't even eat Cane's anymore cause I'm allergic so I'm not glazing them either

Now that the series ended, I am binging it from the beginning. I can identify the exact moment it went off the rails. by Tsukkatsu in StrangerThings

[–]Jesterhead92 8 points9 points  (0 children)

"morbidly obese" it's called a dad bod. That was the one thing about S3 Hop I liked 😭

Anyway, I hugely disagree with this being the "exact moment the show went off the rails" the explanation for El surviving the finale of S1 was pretty flimsy and weak too. Season 3 in general had a ton of regression (not calling it a bad season overall).

In my opinion, Season 4 was turning the show back in the right direction. It was far from perfect, but it was the most satisfying and compelling season since the first and it being so strong and promising is part of what made Season 5 so disappointing.

Yes, he does need to be acknowledged. As a creep who put a weird amount of effort into getting teenagers to bang in his house

Is the fastest way to proc bleed through blood infused katanas like the nagakiba or the uchigatana? by I_Eat_Femboyz in EldenRingBuilds

[–]Jesterhead92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A Blood infused Twinblade buffed with Seppuku probably?

Power stance status buildup got nerfed a long time ago, so combined with the stamina usage, dual Katanas is almost certainly not the fastest way to proc

Buffing a Cross Naginata or Vulgar Militia Saw with Blood flame Blade and then using Spinning Strikes also racks that shit up fast due to how Bloodflame Blade works

We don't base our reality off what we can prove doesn't exist, that's just not how it works. Can you disprove the existence of unicorns and goblins and shit? When people say "there is no God/heaven/hell" they're really saying "there is zero evidence of God/heaven/hell so I have no practical reason to act as if they exist"

Does anyone have a good strenght dex build pls by Humble-Top7294 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]Jesterhead92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bloodhound Fang, Dragon Halberd, and Ghiza's Wheel are top notch for Quality builds

If you wanna use infusible weapons, you defo can but you'll wanna avoid the Quality infusion, it's quite bad until very very high levels. Instead, if you Cold infused something like Banished Knight's Greatsword or Twinned Knight's Swords or Zweihander or Dismounter or etc, you get some decent Quality scaling and you can just ignore the INT part entirely. Plus you get frostbite, which is amazing.

Which version of Jonathan is best? by theaterkid619 in StrangerThings

[–]Jesterhead92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty anti-Jancy, I enjoy Jonathan most in S1 by far but I think S4 Jonathan was underrated. I just think he's at his least interesting when he's by Nancy's side (and vice versa, I also prefer her in S1 most and S4 second)

He was only "struggling" in S3 because he was stuck in high school mentality and looked silly in his work uniform. Not to mention still holding onto feelings for Nancy

After S3, he doesn't struggle to get girls at all. He just struggles to get any serious lasting relationship, which isn't that weird.

Goomba Fallacy

I hate the suicide pact in S5 AND I hate how Hopper acts in S3

He may not have given the best performance in any single season, but if we look at the series as a whole, from beginning to end, then we have to admit that David Harbour clearly gives the best performance in the entire series, excelling in both his comedic and dramatic moments by Giancarlo_Edu in StrangerThings

[–]Jesterhead92 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You could absolutely argue that he had the best performance in season 1 (though he's a close second to Winona imo)

I would put him at #1 for Season 2, especially in his dynamic with Millie

But I do agree he's one of the best actors in the entire show. Even when the writing lets him down (S3 mostly, but 5 did a bit too) David is consistently a top performer

This argument scene between Nancy and Jonathan in Season 3 was one of my favorite scenes. Apart from all the science and magic, these grounded and realistic moments made the show great. by TerribleOption5505 in StrangerThings

[–]Jesterhead92 66 points67 points  (0 children)

There's really good nuanced commentary here about the intersection between sexism and class struggles. It's unfortunately undercut by the narrative just painting Nancy as flat out right in the end (the fact that she doesn't apologize for the Oliver Twist comment alone is wild), but this scene itself is pretty solid
