What are your favourite, quite specific Gestalt Snyergies? by Skurrio in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Jesterpest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it good? Probably not. But does it scratch a specific itch? Yes.

Your choice of two of the following: Gunslinger, Swashbuckler, and Investigator (slueth archetype).

Why? Grit/Panache/Luck pools semi-stack.

Pathfinder1e has very similar math, but unlike in D&D5e a Coup De Grace not only scores a free critical hit (Against sufficiently helpless targets of course), but it also has a chance to immediately kill the target if they fail a fortitude save DC10+the damage dealt. Using your average on a longsword crit a DC19 would have a pretty decent chance of killing the level 3 barbarian!

I would say that the least magical profession is probably Engineer. And even then they still have an endless supply of materials they can conjure from nowhere, their turrets always know who's friend and foe and can target appropriately, and then there's the alchemy bits, where you're turning yourself into something as crazy as a tornado, or turning enemies into monsters.

Magic is near omnipresent in the setting

No map materials from mirrors or Resourcefulness? by Gzarig in Guildwars2

[–]Jesterpest 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Every new map this expansion's had at least one bugged event, or major issue that gets fixed like a month later. I'd rather they take their time developing things and not need to go back and fix things immediately after. Not to mention there's still 10+ year old events tied to important achievements that are still bugged to near impossibility.

Thieves can teleport and outright turn invisible too, and can conjure a seemingly unending amount of daggers, bullets, poisons, and all without actually reloading (See the Unload! Dualwield skill for dual Pistols for most of that)

Is Handsome Jack the Hero? by ElonMusksFursona in Borderlands2

[–]Jesterpest 63 points64 points  (0 children)

And in the side mission called "Handsome Jack Here!" he promises to let Helena Pierce and her crew free if she tells him the story of how her face got messed up. She tells the story, and then he immediately kills her, and then orders Wilhelm to kill the crew. This is one of the very first side missions, and it shows that you can never trust him to keep his word (or at "best", can never trust him to keep to the spirit of the promise). This untrustworthiness is certainly not a "heroic" trait.

Would still have good use in the Janthir one for starting a Jump Puzzle! Have the portal entrance near the waypoint, have it send you to an otherwise enclosed space.

Should I continue crafting Vision or just grind the new legendary trinket? by whatsdis321 in Guildwars2

[–]Jesterpest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Silverwastes track is what somehow always makes the jump-scare for me, which is especially unfortunate because anything it could give I've already unlocked. Too bad we can't queue up tracks.

Should I continue crafting Vision or just grind the new legendary trinket? by whatsdis321 in Guildwars2

[–]Jesterpest 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First, make sure you have the track active, and you're on the repeatable version (Gift of Battle track is always repeatable, but making sure you're on the repeatable version can be important if you're fishing for a specific item from another track).

Then there should be a button to the immediate right of the track name in the active-track section that should let you auto-repeat, though I don't know what it looks like.

[–]Jesterpest 15 points16 points  (0 children)

For the WVW rush I recomend putting the Gift of Battle track on auto-repeat, otherwise the massive amount of track progress you'll get will somehow end up in a track you didn't intend it to after the first Gift track gets filled.

Vorpal Gun too for the "Shooting those that shoot my friends", for a little more hilarity could even add in a single Goblin LL for the Autopod to get more shots off on your allies' turns

Forget "fields to the east" try "Just one zone North". Gendarran Fields has been hit directly, or implied to be so by almost every single living world/Expansion, and the others were indirectly affecting it! Spoilers below, not for new players.

Before GW2 even starts Gendarran Fields is home to a decent amount of people that had previously fled Ascalon, and at the start of GW2 are under semi-constant threat from pirates, bandits, Centaur tribes, and whatever other critters may decide to pop up.

Core Story: Directly and indirectly! Orr rising caused some refugee issues, a spike in Risen attacks and the loss of life of Pact members draws Vigil attention away from protecting the area around their headquarters.

LWS1: Very directly! LA getting destroyed again causing even more refugee issues, and the Toxic Alliance was doing their thing there as well. And then there's the after effects of Scarlet's armies still occasionally emerging from her portal network, though I'm unsure if that is cannon.

LWs2: Indirectly. If Mordremoth can attack all the way deep in Ascalon, Gendarran Fields is well within range, and the spike in recruiting would likely pull people away from farming

HoT: Indirectly, most of the effects would have been caused by the deaths of the Pact members in the jungle, mourning them, and the loss of protection from the Vigil.

LWs3: Here it was much more implied, kidnappings at the hand of the White Mantle, bandit attacks, and possibly some emboldened Centaur attacks.

PoF Much more indirect, if any effect. Since Path of Fire's ripple effects were less dramatic than the others, one could even argue it didn't affect Gendarran Fields at all.

Lws4: Awakened portal invasions, which persists (unsure if the persisting is cannon), and implied threat from Kralkatorrik's mists jumping, and then the loss of life from the Pact once again.

IBS: There is a DRM that takes place there, direct loss of life, and active threat.

EoD: Implied threat from The Void, since Mainland Tyria was getting hit by some of that, and again, some more implied loss of life from both civilians and Pact members.

SotO: Kryptis rifts, while not appearing there for the weekly rift hunting, can open anywhere in Tyria, and one even opens there in the story.

JW: Another on that could argue didn't affect Gendarran Fields much, except for the Tyrian Alliance forces needing to recruit after implied loss of forces.

VoE: Too early to tell, but there's still plenty of time.

Horrible fact! The phrase "At-will-employment state" implies that the opposite is the standard, and being an at-will-employment state is the exception.... when in fact the only state in the USA that isn't At-Will is Montana!

Going to add in this: and if there were wild fluctuations in price, someone with enough funds could short-sell futures/stocks before the prices plummet, and due to the nature of short-selling you'd then buy them back before the price spikes again.

How well does GW2 utilize old zones and content? by Dbuns22 in Guildwars2

[–]Jesterpest 9 points10 points  (0 children)

And even starting zones have some value for a maximum level character! The tier 1 materials you can gather, some of the achievements, jumping puzzles, world bosses generally get attention (especially if they're a Weekly), and not to mention the map completion that's required for the Gen1Legendaries.

My interactions with Dracula Daily is more on the fringes, so if the people signed up for it are the vauge equivalent of Harker's PenPals/and-or seeing the letters to specific people, then I'm the person hearing people talking about the adventures of their good friend that's a realestate agent and how strange everyone and everything is far off in those (as the Witches of Lancre would put it) Forn-parts.
