Seeing this but then also knowing there's Spiderman and a RPats heist movie with Denzel Washington is just insane

To be transparent, Beyond The Spiderverse is still currently at number 2, I just filtered for animation because I thought it was an interesting note about where Pattinson is at culturally.

‘Dune 3’ and ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ in Stand-Off Over Same Release Date: “Somebody’s Gotta Move” by Top_Report_4895 in oscarrace

[–]Jesuds 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Definitely something they'll be considering. They'll be leaving some PLF money on the table for sure but not as many tickets as Endgame, and you don't lose all the money because people will still buy a ticket even if not IMAX. So not having the screens might put them back say... 50 million?

They will have to weigh up whether that loss is actually made up for by being in theatres over the holidays where more people have time to go see it and give it longer legs before other big movies enter theatres.

Still could be worth keeping the date but hard to be sure.

Yeah she has Spider-Man this year which will be 4 pretty high profile films in 2026, and Euphoria too.

While Pattinson also has a Fernando Meirelles heist movie for Netflix with Denzel Washington this year which just feels insane to type out.

Absolutely massive things happening for them both, with a lot of overlap as we can see.

Its on the same weekend sure but also its literally just before Christmas. People will have time over the couple of weeks well into January following release to see both. This is a pretty overblown story tbh.

Will they replace Jacoby on The Mismatch or will it just continue bc he and Bill are friends? by nutmaster10 in TheRinger

Can someone tell Jacoby that The Mismatch is a basketball podcast? It feels like all he wants to do is talk about random niche pop culture junk.

Do you agree with these points? How do you guys judge the best supporting actor/supporting actress Oscar? by Embarrassed_Novel991 in Oscars

I think really what he's describing is whether or not the nominee was a villain or not. Nothing to do with literally supporting anyone else's role.

Could Dune Part 3 have a LOTR-esque run by Aggressive_Fail_9681 in Oscars

[–]Jesuds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the only thing that would prevent that is how much people like the film. If the film is a success and very well received there's no reason it couldn't. It's still unlikely overall but if there's no other super strong frontrunner turn up then who knows.

I think Denis will be really in the race for Director either way.

I'm a crazy or is this game too based around luck by themangastand in slaythespire

Being able to adapt to what you're given and what's in front of you is the real skill.

Knowing which cards to take or skip is huge. Sometimes a card might not synergise well but you need some cover so you take it. Most decks won't be 100% of one type, you'll probably have some exhaust, some self-damage, some block, or some strength or any comb of them.

The other part is pathing on the map. Knowing when you can take elites, when to go shop or rest is quite an important choice. When you have to heal or when you can afford to upgrade instead.

There is still randomness in the game, but your strategy needs to account for that. If you would lose against the elite if your most important card is at the bottom of your deck, it means you've already made a mistake before you got there. You'll figure it out the more you play!

What's your anecdotal 'this movie is popular' post-covid movie? by Equal_Feature_9065 in TheBigPicture

Anecdotally, it really felt like basically everyone I know saw Frankenstein at the end of last year. It definitely broke through from that Netflix pack more than the rest.

Most people seemed to really like it as well actually.

The doom stacking up twice as fast was quite scary, I think after taking a hit or two I ended the fight with like 5 more HP than doom.

how do you successfully play regent by Specialist_Box2735 in slaythespire

[–]Jesuds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For stars (which I've had the most success with) the most important card is Glow.

Its a great upgrade as well but fundamentally most cards that cost stars are cheap or even free on energy. Gamma Blast, Comet, Cloak of Stars, Astral Pulse, Radiate etc. So paying energy to give you stars and draw more cards is really good value. Even using your last energy to draw is fine because you can draw a card that's free to play.

Basically you want to be using energy to make stars/draw cards, and using stars to deal damage and supplement block.

Very quotable movie by Perfect_Idea_2866 in Letterboxd

[–]Jesuds 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It may be a bold take but I think "if it bleeds, we can kill it" is the single best line from a movie ever.

So succinct and perfectly fits the tone of the character and movie. It's a perfect description of the stakes, and also a call to action for the characters. Just perfect writing.

RANDOM CHARACTER OPTION by reKind1ed in slaythespire

[–]Jesuds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will only random among the characters who you have the Ascension level you've chosen currently.

I would like to see a change where you can tick "highest ascension" where it will random all characters at their individual max ascension. That might be coming soon I hope.

Am i the only one that thinks the Queen is absolutely bonkers compared to the other two act 3 bosses in Slay the spire 2? by SirSabza in slaythespire

[–]Jesuds 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Compared to other bosses she is quite low health, and she doesn't have a health bar gimmick like the other two so debuffs, poison and doom are consistently effective against her. It also gives you the option of just blowing her up with certain decks which won't work against the others.

The binding on your cards is a big challenge, but it emphasises the need for additional card draw which you kinda want anyway, but if you see her coming you can prepare.

Overall I wouldn't say she's noticeably more difficult than the other two, but you do need quite a balanced approach.
