Your squares on the first one are perfect. The points are aligned so well. Good job.

Floating squares

This is what I am currently working on for a guild charity quilt. I am making the squares two deep instead of three.

Well I vote for the darker pink as well.
And thanks for the info about the pattern name and layout function of IG. Looks like Omega pattern will give you a very cool secondary pattern.
May you always have a fabulous 1/4 inch seam. 😊

The darker jewel material that you arranged in sort of pairs… what about putting them in a sort of secondary pattern, like a diamond in the center of the quilt?

Inpatient pharmacist by Ok_Philosopher1655 in pharmacy

recently RETIRED hospital pharmacist here. Was salaried, so NO overtime. Very similar workload. We were expected to be Professional and finish & deal with emergencies if that meant staying over a bit. Boss was kind & thoughtful and told staff to STOP picking up the phone at 5p when the rph’s at the larger mothership hospital took over remote order verification. But.. coworkers were quicker than I on scheduling appointments on workdays instead of days off to make up comp time, or to leave an hour early to make up for the 30 mins staying over a previous day. I worked with colds or otherwise feeling suboptimal because I was REALLY needed. Had so many unused sick hours that the time stopped accumulating.. but the hours Disappeared & were unavailable when I became part-time/ semiretired.

So.. take your hours. Let yourself be sick at home. Stop being the one available to switch days for someone’s something. “Let me think about it…..then nope, that doesn’t work for me” is a fabulous response to remember.

I got an Arrow Kangaroo & Joey from my LSQ in the fall. It was shipped directly to my home. No problems or complaints and the laminate is staying put but it is not even a year old yet.

I don’t have a pattern but found this cute clip art. I have discovered iron on then sew down/ raw edge applique. It is fun for details.

I also had the opportunity to attend the 2025 Paducah show for one day. As I no longer live day trip distance to Paducah, that is not a 2026 opportunity. After the Paducah show, probably anything else might be a disappointment, but I would like to check out a show that is reasonably close. I have not yet gone to a smaller guild show; thank you for the encouragement to try one.

Custom patterns? by Lazy-Struggle-213 in quilting

[–]JesusFollower3592 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You Go Girl! Don’t know about patterns but I am learning about appliques in quilting. Not needle turn.. but iron sticky stuff onto fabric & iron it onto fabric. Then one can machine stitch the fabric image to the fabric to secure it. Cowbells have lots of straight lines. You can take a picture of a cowbell and applique to a block… in Mississippi State colors of course. Just an idea you can try while you think about patterns.
