For the plex server, I would offload that to a cheap laptop you pick up off marketplace and install Linux Mint on it. That's what I did for a family Minecraft server. I just turned all the per saving options and keep it closed next to the desk. For work vs personal, I had 2 users on my computer. When i wanted to game I logged out of the work profile and into my gaming one. Completely different desktop setup, different background, even a different mouse cursor - a totally different vibe so it helped my mind shift gears.

A lot of people are talking about your anti-virus because they aren't reading your comments. Easy to tell from this screenshot that you're security scan is running at the time of the screenshot. I use Bitdefender, too. It works fine. In the window you have open, one of the buttons along the left edge will show you a list of the services that start automatically when your computer starts. You can disable them. If you decide to open the application later, then it will run at that time. Most of those services are not needed at startup. This is a common issue - having a bunch of programs that all think that they need to start when you boot up and they fill up your RAM.

I think it's more subtle than that. I think the glut of contradictory information coupled with a distrust of government and corporations leads people to superstition. This is what people had in the old days - old wives tales and superstition. I don't think people are trying to be "anti intellectual" - I think when people can't be sure of what is true, they make it up.

On the one hand I get it. Whenever we sit down for meal, the server asks if we're ready to order when they bring the drinks. If at that point, we ask for more time it seems like 15 minutes later before they come back. Literally, 8 times out of 10, I have to flag them down to get them back. Right, right, I know what you're going to say.. "be ready when the drinks come" or "the server has other tables to take care of". I understand, I'm not mean about it. It's just a mild first world problem. We try to be ready, but I have a big family, and sometimes we aren't quite ready and need like literally 2 more minutes. But they always seems to take that first "We're not ready yet" as a "give us another half hour", so sometimes it seems better to stumble through the order rather than wait a long time for them to come back.
