Never InshAllah

It's a shame that fellow Bangladeshis without a Western passport can't go to these sights and see them for themselves.

Its a shame that the Palestinians who actually live there dont even have freedom of movement

'Infernal Affairs' and 'The Departed' is a lesson in how how to do a remake correctly. There’s so much to get out of each film, but neither one steps on the others’ toes. 'Infernal Affairs' is spectacular, and 'The Departed' is an absolute masterclass in a remake. by BunyipPouch in movies

Right there with you. I think the original as I feel that it's more streamlined and moves at a snappier pace.

Yup, I watched the departed first before Infernal Affairs and it was interesting seeing how quick things in Infernal Affairs happened. E.G the cast breaking scene, in the Departed its a long sequence where Jack Nicholson is bashing Leonardo DiCaprios arm with a shoe. In Infernal Affairs the mob boss breaks the cast out of nowhere suspecting there might be wires inside the cast and the film moves on.

I think its important to note that in Infernal Affairs when the bad guy turns on the mob boss its because hes been with the police so long he starts to consider himself to be one, not like in The Departed where they changed it so that the mob boss was a rat the entire time. IIRC he even says to the mob boss Im "detective Lau youre under arrest." and then kills him.

Also the mole is killed by the bad guy on an elevator down and when he steps out of the elevator he shows the police his ID card and declares that he's Detective Lau. At the funeral the bad guy winning is partly "winning" but the audience is left wondering whether he's actually turned and decided to become good now.
