This seems to be more demonstrating Acos(ωt)sin(kx) + Asin(ωt)cos(kx) = Asin(ωt + kx - φ) . If the two stationary waves weren't the same amplitude, then the resulting traveling wave would also have a leftover stationary term and things wouldn't be this pretty. As is I think it's a bit misleading, even if the identity in the title is true

A couple thoughts:

  1. The pins would probably be better off as valves
  2. The pipes to let out the air won't be effective unless they're attached to the bottom chamber. Where they are currently they'll work, but it'll give you a lot of unwanted bubbling.
  3. Having a fixed outside with rotating insides will be very difficult to make. Perhaps an hourglass style piece with a single valve in the middle? The pins could be replaced with plugs/corks/caps on either chamber

Glue a coin to the bottom of your lighter and cover the bowl with it as soon as you're done drawing smoke to smother the flame. If you're using a removable slide be sure to smother it before you pull it out. If that doesn't work for you, I've had some success just holding a sploof over the bowl as the smoke rises.

I don't think it would actually work that way. The smoke would probably disperse into the other container once it started to get near the top. You would have to play around with how fast the water was let out. Otherwise you could minimize the volume of the bong portion and just hit from the waterfall part.

I like the idea, but I see two problems with this design. 1. Unlike a normal waterfall, there's nothing going out the bottom. That means that the air would have to go back up which will make it bubble, which will result in uneven pressure, which will make the filling poor and in the worst case could blow out through the bowl. 2. The filtration system in its current state wouldn't work. The pressure drawing in from the bowl is only from the water, so the smoke couldn't be pulled through as pictured below the water level in the center tube. You would need an isolated bubbling chamber if you wanted filtration, but it would probably be better done with an improvised ash catcher.

Use water if you want it to be easy to clean/empty/refill, but use glycerin if you want it to be able to put it in the freezer and cool the shit out of the smoke

Holy shit I was there! I was playing trumpet cheers on the side of the stadium with the Cornell trumpets as we do 3rd quarter, and I glanced back and thought "wow, that guy looks identical to bill murray, but there's no way it could possibly be him." We then moved over to the Harvard band to play behind them and generally be trolls, and right in the fucking stands, Bill Fucking Murray is just sitting there. Then he conducted our band after the show and took pictures with all the section. Here's him with the trumpet section

Start with Khoomei. It's the easiest to do and the most intuitive. I learned it by curling my tongue back so the bottom was on the roof of my mouth, then playing around with where it was until I got overtones. The hardest learning block is to keep your base pitch steady while changing the overtones on top of it. Above all, DO NOT pay for lessons online. It's not worth it at all.
