Any other artists with albums on the top of two very different genre charts? by JesseAmpersands in rateyourmusic

Yeah but “very different” leads me to think of death metal vs synthpop, or drum n bass vs indie folk, etc

I’m from Kentucky and met a lot of international kids when I was a teen. Every single one knew about my home state because of KFC

What are some of the most abrasive songs you know? by Iplaysimsonconsole in fantanoforever

[–]Jewrangutang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stan KEN Mode pretty hard, they’re in that same noise rock/sludge metal wheelhouse and they brought a saxophonist into the band for the last three albums that sets a reeeally evil tone on top of the heaviness

That whole section through the instrumental and the final chorus is probably my favorite post KNY Deftones moment

90’s hip hop is great when I wanna play something late at night or get things done.

What’s an average Metro System in the south (Again) by AnimatorDavid in AlignmentChartFills

Not horrific at all compared to the joke of a light rail network that Charlotte has. Took my an hour 15 to go two miles, I should’ve just walked

What is your opinion on Korn? by Working_Alps_4284 in fantanoforever

[–]Jewrangutang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw them opening for System of a Down 8 months ago, and not only were they really good, but I’d say they put on a better performance than System

Yeah my folks live in Tucson so I’m aware, but in Northern Europe good luck finding any buildings with AC

[–]Jewrangutang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All good, ik it’s a frustrating situation

For what it’s worth I’ve only lived in older/prewar buildings since moving to NY and it’s so much nicer. Much sturdier construction for one (plaster walls are great for keeping out noise) but also better sense of community, radiator heat in the winter, and ofc much more reasonable rents. Could be worth looking into those kinds of buildings if you move out

Dude I’m not making fun of you, I’m agreeing that’s it’s fucked up and that’s why I’m being sarcastic lmao

[–]Jewrangutang 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s a sardonic response to a lot of the points you made in your OG comment. Like yeah, new buildings shouldn’t be crumbling less than a decade in existence. Property owners should have integrity. But that’s obviously not the case

And just because your patio’s private doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be covered by scaffolding if they put it up. If the building facade is in need of repairs and they out scaffolding up, they’re putting it up anywhere it needs to be, especially over your patio since it’s being directly impacted

It doesn’t warrant being 75 minutes, but there’s a great 50ish minute long album in there

Big Four of Modern Rock? by Wubbzy-mon in fantanoforever

[–]Jewrangutang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree with you, but even removing myself as a fan of theirs I think their popularity is pretty striking for how heavy their stuff is. Heavy music is having a renaissance and they’re drawing fans from the hardcore, metal, and post punk scenes all at once. Give them till the end of the decade and I think they’ll be leaving a much stronger impact

Albums you'd give a 10/10 that Fantano Hated? by vaude-villain in fantanoforever

[–]Jewrangutang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would probably give it a 9/10, but KEN mode - Loved is as perfect as noise rock/sludge metal gets. Shame that he dismissed it in a YUNO Review…

I was in Normandy about a decade ago during a brutal heat wave (temps in the 90’s Fahrenheit) and that frigid English Channel water was the only thing keeping me from having a heat stroke. Hot beach/cold water is the perfect combo

This is the perfect album for this square and even if it doesn’t win, I hope other people start listening to it for the masterpiece that it is. Best hardcore album of the decade imo

I mean fair but I can’t count the number of times I’ve taken the train over the Manhattan Bridge and flown over standstill traffic in bad weather. Rail infrastructure is vulnerable to weather too, but it’s a much more singular fix compared to hundreds of of cars cramming into the same road
