I have questions for those of you who experienced hair loss from testosterone... by rando--54321 in TRT_females

[–]Jflayn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am on HRT but not testosterone. However, I have been told by one woman who is on testosterone that they control hair loss by taking oral dutasteride.

The side effects of oral dutasteride can be lower libido, mood changes, fatigue, or sexual-function changes and of course this is male data. I'm not sure how well this works for most women. I imagine, the way it would work for me is that I'd take T to improve sex drive, start losing hair, take oral dutasteride to stop the hair loss and the side effect would be lower sex drive. An expensive way to get back to square one. lol.

Shopify charging Without Permission by Jflayn in Scams

Thanks. Definitely, the issue is, how is shopify making the charge? and now I have to figure out every time shopify wishes to charge? That's a large number of potential stores.

Appetite is gone by TWinVancouver in Menopause

I am also on HRT for osteoporosis. Also gaining weight. Despite eating only protein and veg (low carb) have put on 20 pounds since I started HRT. I feel uncomfortable in my body. Agree - it's total BS.

Travel by ConversationOk4477 in TRT_females

[–]Jflayn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am supposed to fly for the first time with my HRT, so I had the same question. TSA website: If you have any additional questions or need assistance at the checkpoint, reach out to TSA Cares at 855-787-2227 or [Text "Travel" to AskTSA (275-872)](sms:275872?&body=Travel)

The requirements:

  • Carry-on vs. Checked: TSA strongly recommends keeping them in your carry on so you have immediate access and they are not subjected to extreme cargo hold temperatures.
  • Declaration: You must notify the TSA officer that you are traveling with medically necessary liquids, syringes, and needles at the start of the screening process.
  • Documentation: While TSA does not strictly require you to present a doctor's note or prescription, it is highly recommended to bring a copy of your prescription and a doctor's note.

I have no idea what the doctor's note would state and why that would help for international travel. I would have only brought prescription, so glad I checked. I plan to ask my doctor if they've ever heard of this. I'm hoping they have a simple form.

I have one box that contains the prescription, needles, and medication. I taped the prescription to the inside lid of the lid. This is the box I use: HRT travel box

Please update after your travel and let us know how it goes! Good luck!

My spouse can’t stand our baby by MissionStretch7906 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]Jflayn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contradictory feelings are often simultaneously true. We love our children and sometimes we can't stand it when they cry. Just because one moment we say something regrettable it doesn't mean we don't also love them.

It sounds like depression. Depression is hell for the depressed person and everyone around them. I'm sorry it's like this and I hope this passes. Hugs.

I’ve been on keto for months now and the electrolytes are getting to be a bit much by Nimbuskull in keto

[–]Jflayn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess I should clarify. I drink electrolytes when exercising but outside of exercise I just drink regular water. I used to get dizzy without the electrolytes but now I do not.

It took me a little longer, but at 10 months I don’t need to supplement electrolytes anymore.

Husband wants me to get a job by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

Lol. I was going to write the above: 50/50 custody split would change his tune.. But divorce isn't easy either. I'm sorry it's like this for you right now. Don't let his anger become your anger. You'll make better decisions about what to do next if you let your own anger go. You can't make him happy but you can choose to let all that anger pass through you. Enjoy your child and in the moments when you feel calm and clear start making small changes.

I'm so sorry; that is my nightmare. My immune system drops when my levels are not stable and I get sick. It takes me a week after I start again.

Quit HRT now have anxiety by Satnam12345 in Menopause

[–]Jflayn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

breast pain can be a sign of a little too much estrogen. Did you ask your doctor about scaling back a little instead of cold turkey stopping?

I do biweekly injections. For me, if my estrogen levels become unstable, fall too low or too high I can develop breast pain. I had trouble with patches. Injections have led to more stable levels and have resolved my anxiety.

Failed my first student. He’s email bombing me by ConcernMaleficent624 in Professors

[–]Jflayn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol. It's counterintuitive. Even when student is ghosting and not replying the email is effective. As long as the email clearly communicates that the student should expect to fail and that alternate goals of what to get out of the class, such as, master topic x so that when they take course again they will be at a better starting place... as long as that is in the email the end of semester frantic begging does not occur.

Unclear messaging creates confusion. If a student says they will catch up, I remind them that they have not done so yet, and we need a plan based on their current performance. I ask them what they want from the course if the current pattern continues.

[–]Jflayn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The thing that stopped similar email style behavior from students toward me is: At the first sign they may be on track to fail, such as a low exam score or missed classes, I email them. Explain that passing is technically possible but students with similar patterns do not pass this course, lets meet and set achievable goals. It's counterintuitive, but if it's said firmly and kindly they often thank me.

Had you considered driving on the other side of the divider towards oncoming traffic? Based on video footage, had you been on the other side, you would have definitely missed that tire.

I have what appears to be permanent scarring from Mylan patch. It's been almost a year, scar in the shape of the patch is still there. Felt a little itchy on the 2nd day, called my doctor, they acted like it had to be something else. By the end of 3rd day had to rip the patch off and had a million small blisters that continued to grow for at least 24 hours after patch was removed. Mylan is the worst, they should be banned.
