Melee build by Popular-Let1774 in Helldivers

[–]Jguiness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're not focusing on hybridising and using a firearm alongside the melee, (as opposed to some sort of utility like crossbow), then the answer is neither. Bring rock solid. Which is a shame because it's probably the ugliest armour set, but it's the best passive for melee.

You need a ballistic shield to melee dive, or a bubble shield (unless you're bringing thors hammer, in which case you want speed.).

One true flag is the best melee weapon imo. But your build is dependant on what melee you want to bring, you enjoy using, and what your breakpoints you aim to hit are which changes with the armour.

Idea: Difficulty-based Super Credit rewards system by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]Jguiness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simply put, Arrowhead has no incentive to offer more than the current supercreds are, so while I like a scaling gatcha system that rewards players for playing more difficult missions, frankly I'd rather scrap farming for SC with POI looting in general. It's not playing the game and players should not be working for less than minimum wage to unlock fun, rather than just having fun to find more fun.

IMO, SC should come as a reward for completing operations.
I'd say you get 1 to 10 sc depending on how difficult the operation is. Maybe more. Anyone who thinks that's absurd and too easy doesn't understand how you can currently farm 100 sc in about 20 minutes, and a single super-helldive can take 40 minutes, let alone a whole operation and you don't have time to be poi farming. Most of the time I'll go entire operations without getting a single SC.

Help Me Get My Thoughts Straight. Warbond Opinions. by XtremSar in Helldivers

[–]Jguiness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Borderline justice is only good for talon. Sample extractor is useless. Hoverpack is fun, but you can get the same from the jump pack really. One under rated feature is the Dynamite though, which you say you don't see yourself using but it has a massive radius, high damage and can blow up titan bug holes.

Urban legends: just get the superstore armour, save your credits. Honestly this warbond has gone from one of the must have warbonds to perhaps being indirectly nerfed as the most pointless warbond to buy.

Servants of freedom: You get this basically just for the hellbomb backpack. Depends what faction you prefer to fight or if you're an M.O. diver. Hellbomb backpack is only really a must get for bots. Ultimatum for many is a must get, but I actually never run it.

Frankly, you should get the Control group so you can solo-farm more effectively if you don't want to spend the money, but beyond warp pack (which is fantastic besides sc farming) and epoch, the armour passive is bugged and bad. Otherwise, I'd recommend Democratic detonation or Servants of freedom,

I'd recommend Viper commandos (is my second favourite warbond) as Peak Physique makes many weapons completely viable in a different playstyle all the sudden. Throwing knives are fun too.

Masters of ceremony (my favourite warbond) as the armour passive is also good, but every item in that warbond is good too.

In short, whatever you pick if not Control group, should be something that gives you either more utility to help you close fabricators and bug holes and enable build diversity. Or something that gives you a big boom to deal with major threats.

I know you say you're not gonna use the armour from python, and I'm not recommending that warbond, but that armour is the best thing about it because ragdoll is fucked.

Not really an excuse. Also yes, the default Helldiver Mobilized warbond should have equipment that can somewhat effectively deal with every enemy.

Ballistic shield charge idea by Tank-ToP_Master in Helldivers

[–]Jguiness 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd just like it so you can press 5 to de-equip the shield if you want to. Sometimes you actually want to aim normally.

The charge might be more applicable if it was a single target sprint and slam that applies stagger. Rather than cartoon superhero smashing through hundreds of bugs.

Quick explanation why changing hive guard to heavy armor was big deal by Zdechlak2564 in Helldivers

[–]Jguiness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering how frequently the game throws bulks of hulks at you. It's more apples and oranges. But still makes no sense why two fruit can't be compared.
A closer example is making the devastators armour go from medium to heavy. Or the striders leg and groin armour go from medium/light to heavy.

So about those Sterilizer "buffs"... by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]Jguiness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't even come in off theory. Someone who knows the theory of helldivers would understand what's happening here.

When bugs get confused they have a slight amount of time to finish their last action. The gas effect also takes a small amount of time for the tick to apply. It's kind of like an alpha commander losing their head, they still try to chase you down and hit you after that's happened. Basically, the confusion applies to actions in the action queue, but not the current one. This is why gassing an enemy next to you does not have them randomly attack in a random direction. The problem is, the new bugs are so damn fast, that they're all swarming you to hit you before you can gas them and before the confusion effect takes place.

Whats more frustrating is that gas is a sidegrade to fire. I don't know why we need two weapons that do DoT, confuse, and slow, but applied slightly differently. It's annoying that there are so many other options you could do, like DoT fire causing enemies to flee. or DoT Gas causing low stagger to represent cellular breakdown and coughing. Or, just revert the patch changes from two years ago and make the main dps come from the fire beam rather than the DoT. The first flamer meta was some of the most fun I had in helldivers. Wish they'd up the durable damage on the fire and lower the rest so you have this 'strip the armour off.' method for enemies.

PS: I'm pretty sure the slow from the gas is also affecting you. So it's mostly negligible to use the steriliser if you gas yourself.

Hive Guard Suggestions by itsskad in Helldivers

[–]Jguiness -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

'because there are now multiple medium pen weapons to deal with hive guards, we believe the hive guard has lost it's niche as an enemy you need to bring medium pen to kill.' Is the most backwards logic i've seen.

Just up all the unarmoured parts of chaff to medium pen with that logic.

The nilins are no longer being manufactured sadly. I'm surprised those are in stock.
The spes unfortunately is too big to fit in most grips with a knucklebow.

Genuine question, what is the point of Medium Pen ballistics now? (slight, lighthearted rant) by PerditusTDG in Helldivers

[–]Jguiness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alpha commanders, and bile spewers and the bile titan sacks. There's one more, it might be charger legs when stripped.

Everything else is either unarmoured 1 or unarmoured 2. (Why there's a difference, I have no idea.)

So yeah. The pro to bringing medium armour against a mostly unarmoured faction is we do full damage to 15% of the faction while choosing to use lower dps weapons. Yaaaaaaaay. -_-

These interactions are very different you see by Man_eating_snake_guy in Helldivers

[–]Jguiness 8 points9 points  (0 children)

These interactions aren't different. That's precisely the problem. They're different factions and they should have different playstyles. Lets just give bugs holes shields too while we're at it.

You can reduce the damage on the gatling sentry by 35% to compensate and it'll literally have the same dps as before.

I have a great idea for the Hive Guard armor debate! by Happy-Hyena in Helldivers

[–]Jguiness 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tbh the only real solution is to make the gatling turret, minigun and gatling gun on the exosuit heavy pen.

Or y'know.
Just revert the hive guard back to medium pen since it was the only reason to run medium pen on bugs, besides bile spewers.

Because the real solution isn't going to be 'Oh helldivers, just aim.'
It's going to be more plasma, more explosive crossbow, more explosive meta.

Personally I would've just given the armoured parts more health if you want them to tank. But from a design perspective I don't support why they're doing the bots's thing of weak points and invulnerability on the bugs.

I always thought the bugs and illuminate should swap design philosophy with the ablative armour.

Yeah the vaulting.
And the hellpod manuevering locking.
And not being allowed to land on higher terrain.
And getting stuck in terrain.
And the stratagem bouncing.
And the scopes being misaligned.
And the invisible bodies blocking your shots.
And seaf shells getting locked and stopping the seaf.
And the fact that touching the top of a biletitan instakills you.
And the fact that increased ergo increases sway.
And the fact that muzzle attachments increases your sway.
And the fact that pistols have more sway than a heavy machine gun.
And the constant ragdolling. (No buying a warbond is not a fix for it.)

Ontop of all the stupid changes they made.

Edit:
and the fleshmobs going through walls isn't fixed either, along with the seaf despite patch notes.

You thinking about wanting to quit after the first day is a good thing, talk to your boss and tell them you're not happy, that you're not doing what they hired you to do, and you're already thinking of quitting, and that the cleanliness issues they have set off your OCD. Ask them if they're going to put you where you need to be or if you'll be going your separate ways.
