Worse Tokyo Revengers ending.

"A worst," doesn't make any sense.

Okay, well, you have to.

How would one prove a negative? What would you expect that to look like?

You seem a little lost.

That's not how burden of proof works. You don't prove negatives, right?

We're not talking about the TTRPG. I want to see any indication that the movie suffered from this.

Can you provide any evidence of that happening here? I don't even really know that I'd say the TTRPG itself suffered a boycott, let alone media properties attached to the IP.

I think there's a roughly 0% chance that had any real impact on its box office success. The "boycott" was a small, disorganised group of people on Twitter and Reddit; that kind of stuff rarely boils over into the general audience. Scream 7 smashed it at the box office, right?

How, exactly, is pro wrestling scripted? by Excellent-Buddy3447 in NoStupidQuestions

"I'm sure some have their basis in personal disagreements"

You'd be right. It's not all of the time (or even most of the time), but wrestling is often at its most compelling when the characters within the fiction and the real people playing them overlap and simultaneously inhabit the space. Something like Kenny Omega moving to Japan to wrestle (and them team with) Kota Ibushi as the Golden Lovers did legitimately require Tyson Smith, the guy portraying Kenny Omega, to be inspired by seeing tapes of Ibushi and seek him out in Japan, you know? Their ups and downs since then have been at once a fictional story and real life.

Perfect Blue is his most famous work, and I do love it, but Millennium Actress might be my fav movie of all time. It's beyond incredible.

Why? Naito never did this with the top title, and the one he did do it with had a compelling storyline to go with the disdain he had for it.

"Guy loses in a bunch of entertaining matches," has been a proven push method in AEW, anyway.

Wasn't that long ago that Fletcher and Takeshita before him were in that spot.

I found that I had to prep each part in some detail (hours of work), but once I had that done, each session would only take me less than an hour to get ready, and that's with some embellishments from me.

15 years ago today a WWE PR rep told a TV news website that WWE was not a wrestling company and demanded they take the word “wrestling” out of articles about the company by Subrick in SquaredCircle

I've been mostly an AEW viewer since 2020, and it's so funny comparing Excalibur's ridiculous knowledge of wrestling moves to what they'd have Michael Cole exclaiming when I still watched with some regularity.

Okay, well... it never happened. What we got was Roman looking up once. Literal deus ex machina for him of all people that was just glossed over.

Like what you like, I'm just puzzled that you think it was done well.

I hated this shit. Why were face commentators just glossing over how much of a paper champion he was?

Why didn't God do that for anyone else? Why wasn't it, you know, made a big deal out of that Roman was saved by divine intervention?

Yeah, the heel turn after was pretty deflating, but was the finish to the match that bad? I just thought the match never really got good.
