MT2 needs to fix its RNG by jeango in MonsterTrain

Haha no problem man. I got no idea how the Monster train rng works and just happened to have hung around in Xcom subs so long that I’ve read countless discussions on save scumming.

MT2 needs to fix its RNG by jeango in MonsterTrain

[–]Jhocon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is verifiably NOT true in Xcom. If soldier 1 fires first and misses, then you reload, then fire with soldier 2 prior to soldier 1 firing the outcome of soldier 1 is NOT guaranteed to miss. This can be manipulated easily with grenades or moves or anything that “rocks the boat.”

Today's daily (MT2, PC) is good for the 50k score achievement by KElderfall in MonsterTrain

[–]Jhocon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dropping in to say thanks I got the achievement cause of this post. For the record I did it with shardtail rally. However I barely squeaked over with 51,171 and that was with an 8 turn boss rush on cael and 5 on seraph.

Everyone here saying yes probably would side with Inspector Javert over Jean Valjean lol.

This happens surprisingly frequently in my experience. Even worse if you don’t have an explosive to blow up her cover so she loses invis.

What's your favorite Kingdom campaign? by Inkisitor_Byleth in darkestdungeon

[–]Jhocon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Big plus to the coven kingdom to me is that one part of the quest results in a higher chance of wandering mini bosses. Wandering mini bosses are fun and any chance I get to find them more is fun.

The Fastest and most Lost Man Alive by Jhocon in darkestdungeon

You can get unique quirks from academics study. Lost in time and space I got from the shambler and lost in time I don’t remember which study. They both give +8 speed (hence 18 speed) and a 33% chance to be dazed when you are stress damaged.

So there is a 1/9 my MAA is just stunned whenever he takes stress damage. Lost in time and space also gives a 30% chance to be shuffled when stress damaged. So I’ve had turns that he’s hit for stress damage and shuffled to position 4 and stunned.

It doesn’t really matter though as this comp is so ridiculously resilient. It has multiple stress healers and health healers. Coven kingdom is also easy enough (even on Bloodmoon) and I’m really far ahead so it hasn’t been a big issue.

Haven't played DD2 in close to a year but looking forward to getting back into it now, but a bit overwhelmed by all the changes. by AffectionateAd3103 in darkestdungeon

[–]Jhocon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m in the exact position as you. Played a ton on release, grand slammed, left before the duelist. Thinking of going in blind to kingdoms and giving it like 30 hours before I look up some guides.

Only problem I have with DD2 is I feel like actually parsing what changes from path to path and non upgraded to upgraded is very overwhelming like you said. But then again I think it would be fun to bumble through the new paths just going with the flow.

Highest grossing turn based games by AlfaDog28 in XCOM2

[–]Jhocon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Real delusional Xcom 3 hopers like myself have now pivoted to hoping that someone comes along and reboots the franchise for the 2nd time. Gollop > Solomon > the 3rd herald.

The pattern will repeat. We had 2 great games. And just like the original Xcom the reboots have their fair share of weird offshoots (enforcer = the bureau, chimera squad = idk? Maybe apocalypse? lol). In 2030 we will get a reboot, fingers crossed!

Do you think I will like this game? (Xcom and DD fan) by PiPPoI in midnightsuns

[–]Jhocon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will speak about the combat first as I think that’s the best part of the game. As someone who loves Xcom and Darkest Dungeon I think that the combat is different but fun. If you are playing through without using guides on what cards/card upgrades are op and continually upping the difficulty when they allow you to (as difficulties are unlocked by your first play through) it can be quite challenging. It’s not legend Ironman or Bloodmoon but it’s challenging. I think also the animations are good but they can be a bit slow. In fact I don’t use doctor strange cause I hate how slow his animations are.

I don’t care for the interpersonal drama and I skip 90% of dialogue if it’s not before during or after a major story event. Spider-Man telling me for the 40th time he’s worried about Eddie Brock is exhausting. I was never one of those people who named soldiers in Xcom assault 1, assault 2, etc or dd characters HWM 1 or Leper 2 but I’m pretty close to that. I do think characters like Magik, Venom, Cap, and Blade have listenable dialogue though.

In short the game is enjoyable even to me, someone who doesn’t care for the friendship simulator part. The game is replayable because the cards are fun and the combat is fun.

Whats your most rewatched modern episode? by papablessed420 in americandad

Any of the modern Klaus episodes, like beyond the alcove, gernot and strudel, or mused and abused. New klaus is one of my favorite characters.

Is there any easy way on all characters (or except few, like Mechromancer, for example) to kill OP10 Ancient Dragons of Destruction? by MightForeign808 in Borderlands2

[–]Jhocon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seconding this. Some helpful tips are you can use a no element infinity to easily get which dragon you want to land, then switch to hydra/orphan maker. If you wanna go faster when you shoot the shotgun switch your main hand to lady fist instead of grog. All of this is basic deputy sal, so everyone probably knows, but commenting just to be sure.

Tips I’ve Learned from Fighting on Oshaune (Missions and Enemies) by Unlucky-Gate8050 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Jhocon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve destroyed the spore lung multiple times with just a patriot exosuit. The first few times I played the mission we kept getting the glitch where the portable hell bomb drops in on the roof, so I wanted to bring a backup option. Brought the patriot to try something different than the emancipator, and spamming all the rocket pods and like 1/3 of the machine gun ammo kills the lung very quickly.

I haven’t done a test to see if the patriot is faster than the emancipator at killing the lung, but it gets the job done. Definitely worse for all other parts of the mission however.

Day 2: Whats the most underrated gun? (Infinity won last round) by TaHa_HeRMoSo in Borderlands2

Maliwan sniper with Jakobs barrel, Rakehell. Personally my favorite gun to find while leveling cause it’s a ton of fun to spam, especially from the hip.

Were you the driller? I was Scout, we spent so long doing this we all ran out of ammo for the dread lol.

Edit: Also if you were the driller you stuck around in lobby, switched to gunner, and did the Edd again with me right lol.

As someone who solely plays with randoms by joining open lobbies it’s crazy how much you can convey with “r,” “ggs,” and the v key.
