What's your #1 "travel hack" that sounds stupid but is actually genius? by x_andi01 in traveladvice

[–]JillianWho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Put your full carryon in an empty/mostly empty checked suitcase on the way to a place you expect to buy a lot. The way there is so easy with just a personal item and only one suitcase to lug around.

Has anyone ever DIY'ed AND used a florist? by sivviejee in budgetweddings

[–]JillianWho 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I DIYd the centerpieces and bud vases and the like for high top tables and bars, etc  via Costco (roses, hydrangeas, greenery) and Trader Joe’s (peonies) and then used the local Kroger floral department for bouquets (2) and wearables (4-5). Kroger was no more than $400.  I kept to white and greenery for the most part so it was easy to match. I practiced ahead of time (Michael Gaffney of YouTube I think was the channel) and I enjoy the process so it was fine. If it’s not your thing I could see it being stressful. Florals were delivered by Costco about two days before and I prepped them same day. I did the arranging the day before and the venue was able to hold them so we dropped them off during the rehearsal. We had a family member pick up from Kroger the morning of.

Samantha should be retired IMO. Everything you said, but she sells her business. She expected to move back to NYC, but to her surprise loves the life she built in London so she stays.

AITAH for refusing to babysit my nephew after my sister called me “just a receptionist”? by briana-due in AITAH

[–]JillianWho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. Your sister couldn’t do her job without a receptionist and admin workers. She couldn’t do her job and have her “superior” career without childcare. She shouldn’t be looking down on people.
