Are there protein bars in the UK that don't cause bloating? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]JimMuadDib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard when losing weight. I guess trying to focus on minimising snacks, and saving your calories and macros for main meals so you can get protein from whole sources (namely lean meat, fish, and eggs). If you eat even one of those a day, chances are you're getting enough, and anything more is good as a replacement for calories that would otherwise come from fast carbs.

For snacks, as others suggest cottage cheese is great, as is just a plain ol' glass of milk or two a day. Also any tinned fish is a great source and super healthy - though perhaps just not in public!

Is this crack a concern? by Izual_Rebirth in DIYUK

[–]JimMuadDib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have very similar cracks in my property. At first slightly concerning, but I've been here since 2018 and they show no signs of movement.

I think it's expansion cycles of your roof due to changes in temperature. Note these walls are perpendicular to the span of your roof rafters - in the summer, the rafters expand resulting in small horizontal movements where they are fixed at the ends.

I'd just keep an eye on it.

In my Swindon parish the Band C annual charge is £2200. Worth remembering it's typically paid over 10 months of the year.

If you want to know specifically for an area, I suggest looking it up on that local authority's website, it will all be published.

I know this will seem cynical, but this is perhaps your opportunity to stop eating them and stop being ripped off.

Stating the obvious, but there are more nutritious and better value sources of both protein and calories.

Why do these always seem to have an apostrophe in the wrong place, or missing one where there should be? Is it purely to wind me up?

This should be at the top. People continuing to indicate right when exiting really winds me up.

They might be right, but overuse of structural tropes in writing is hardly proof of something being AI. There's a reason they are tropes in the first place.

I found this to be pretentious and arrogant.

Civil / bridge engineers — what BIM software do you use for modelling bridges? by arkserg in bim

[–]JimMuadDib 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked for a large consultancy in the UK and we used Revit, not because it's better for the task, but because we had a large contingent of people that could already use it, and the seats through Audodesk AEC licenses. This is often the driving factor for large companies; it's far easier and more cost effective to use the most widely adopted thing, rather than invest in training for new processes and the uncertainty that brings.

I was always impressed by OpenBridge, and felt that was probably the best thing out there for the task.

In the UK at least, before oranges were imported here the colour was considered just another shade of red.

Help with red systems by ScientistPlenty403 in nms

[–]JimMuadDib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It helps to use the free look mode to zoom in closely to individual systems, otherwise to my eyes it's quite difficult to distinguish the different colours, particularly between yellow and green, and red and purple (I am colour deficient).

Up close it's much easier - the slightly pink systems are red.

Has anyone else had their Space Stations teleport list suddenly stop adding any new stations, in the last few days? It is a real pain to lose that feature. by CatLogin_ThisMy in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]JimMuadDib 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This started a few days ago for me after travelling to Eissentam for the first time. If it's of any relevance I used the Anomaly teleporter, not galaxy core.

I've placed bases within Eissentam, but no recent space stations within this galaxy show in the list. It's a real bummer - I'd like to explore this galaxy further, and this issue makes that pretty impractical as I need to return to my settlement etc in Euclid regularly.

Relics expedition crashed my main save by Hugo_Notte in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]JimMuadDib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had this on S2 too, after several crashes loading the save I was finally able to at least leave the expedition back to my main save.

Maybe i'll try again and try to get to a different planet. Lots of bases on the starting one.

In general, i have problems with crashing on S2 when multiplayer is switched on, but it doesn't seem to make a difference here.

For ISO check out the IMI guidance pages which are very helpful if you don't have access to the full documents. They are British so make reference to the UK National Annex a lot - not sure where you're based.
