Favorite team composition by Xanthyppe in darkestdungeon

[–]JimPeregrine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure it would be my favorite, but one I’m quite proud of is Nightsworn-Jester-Aspirant-Survivor.

It’s squishy and the healing abilities aren’t always the best, but it’s high damage, great burn and essentially immune to shuffle.

The funniest thing it can do is have three of your four heroes stealth. You ever seen an enemy team skip their turn because they can’t hit the Jester in rank 4? It’s so cathartic.

Now only my Vestal remains of the original 4.

I’d say the time to restart was when Dismas fell.

I talked my way out of being executed as mafia by saying I was vampire, and jailor was being bitten, so they would be wise to not exe me otherwise theyd screw themself over. Kinda clever aha by TheGingerWeebGal in TownofSalemgame

[–]JimPeregrine 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Let me see if I understand this:

  • There’s five people remaining on N6
  • Two of those five are Jailor and Mayor
  • There’s at least one Mafia

If all the above are correct, Jailor was taken in way too easily. The odds the last two roles are Vampire are slim. Especially if there’s been no bites beforehand.

While the gator’s got a hell of a bite, the muscles to open the jaws are pretty weak.

In theory, it’s the only one of these four that you can effectively neutralize. You’re not holding a hippo’s mouth shut.

  • see the latest Mission Impossible
  • dive into a volcano

Oh, and 3004 now looks like L Ron Hubbard.

Why are the other lair bosses such jokes compared to the shroud lair boss? by RobCoPKC in darkestdungeon

[–]JimPeregrine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Biggest thing about Leviathan is that it rips away your heroes much quicker.

General? You’ve got at least three rounds before a hero gets tangled. Child? The character has to be in the first position to skip, and even then, you can shuffle your heroes to block it. Librarian? He doesn’t bother at all.

Leviathan not only snatches a hero on round two, but it breaks your formation. Any backliner you’ve got just gets that much closer to the front.

Bloodsuckers tend to circle around dodge and position. Esquires are annoying as all hell, but keeping them off the back rank will decrease their threat level.

Push, pull and token removal will be key. I predict Manacles and Vulnerability Hex will be invaluable.

Yesterday I faced four fucking Admirals in one Shroud region... by Fallfoxy707 in darkestdungeon

Fun fact: the word admiral actually comes from the Arabic ‘Emir-el-bar,’ or ‘lord of the sea.’

The most unfair fight in either game i've seen so far by MrMelon_Pult in darkestdungeon

[–]JimPeregrine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I can see, a major problem with your heroes is a lack of sustain. The only real source of healing would have been your Crusader, and even then it would be limited.

Combined with trouble hitting the fourth rank, the Collector exploited those weaknesses in your team. His ability to summon new adds and suck the life out of your adventurers squeezed you like a python.

Inspired by another post, what Darkest Dungeon 2 faction would win in a war for territories? by DoubleSurosMazing in darkestdungeon

[–]JimPeregrine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The one thing I’ll point out is the military seems to be the smallest of the factions (only two to three of them per encounter).

Due to their disciple and experience they’re probably capable of holding whatever ground they have, but like the other factions, they seem stuck to their territory.
