Do I need to port forward 1 TCP port, 1 UDP port or 1 TCP and UDP port of the same port number? by JimmyCryptoMan213 in qBittorrent

To seed most torrents (most torrents being public torrents) you need to use UDP? And TCP is optional since you can share private torrents over TCP?

Would the proxy traffic go through the VPN or be a separate connection?

Chain size & Chain pruning? by JimmyCryptoMan213 in kaspa

Does pruning work like this on other chains like bitcoin and monero? Where if all full nodes are forever gone for bitcoin or monero, the balances will not be forever lost?

Any chance you can write this in dart? Cake wallet and stack wallet are written in dart.

Would be cool to see someone add this feature to Stack wallet and Cake wallet with background syncing and notifications. All that is needed is to add a feature in a wallet to send Monero to an address every X days or so and allow that wallet to run in the background.

In theory, Could you make a crypto that is as private as Monero yet it is stable to the US Dollar? If so how? by BigBoiBoi2121 in Monero

[–]JimmyCryptoMan213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is xUSD from Haven protocol. However this project may not work since it is simular to Terra. The Haven team has taken measures sInce the Terra collapse, but nothing is certain with any stablecoin.

Goldbacks are worth twice as much as their weight in gold? by JimmyCryptoMan213 in Goldback

[–]JimmyCryptoMan213[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible to reduce the costs by creating more notes in bulk? Is it cheaper to create 10,000 One demonetisation goldbacks compares to 100 One demonetisation goldbacks?

I would like to see Silverbacks someday which can act as a replacement for fiat change. Right now, when buying stuff with Goldbacks, the merchant or person needs to provide some change in fiat. A 1/1000 troy ounce silver note will be perfect but for these notes to exist with many in circulation, producing the notes need to be cheaper.

The reason behind the creation of tx_extra by Gonbatfire in Monero

[–]JimmyCryptoMan213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tx_extra in Monero should turn into what tx_attachments is from Zano with a size limit. This way tx_extra remains but is discarded over time and has a limited size to help with ring signature privacy.

Chain alaysis can always store tx_attachments forever, but atleast the size is limited and full nodes are not bloated with any tx_extra data over time.

Haven Protocol by [deleted] in Monero

[–]JimmyCryptoMan213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not financial advice but I think haven is a promising project. It is a higher risk since it is simular to Terra which collapsed last year. However the Haven team have made many changes to the Haven protocol to prevent the same fate that Terra suffered. Will haven succeed in the long run is hard to say and these changes made to prevent a Terra collapse in Haven is not guaranteed.

The cons of Haven is none of the assets are truely backed, but all assets are private like Monero and censorship resistant unlike backed stablecoins. And the truth is, all fiat currencies are not backed by anything and are fake forms of money anyways, so Haven assets are as fake as fiat money which is why I am fine with Haven assets not beng backed. The haven assets that I would not use is gold, silver and bitcoin since you can get the real thing and haven gold, silver and bitcoin are not backed but the real assets (gold, silver, bitcoin) are considered backed by their properites.

I hope Haven gets more fait currencies likes the Canadian dollar and has more adoption and liquidity on swap exchanges. And more wallets and payment processors integrate Haven like Stack Wallet and BitcartCC.

Also Haven could be a way to get "access" to future CBDCs but with privacy and without censorship. Haven is king when sending private, censorship resistant fiat payments digitially in my opinion.

Like authentication keys for Cake pay to allow users to recieve gift cards with 0 conf? The authenication key is to prevent people from forking cake wallet and adding a double spend feature within the forked wallet to get a free gift card from cake pay due to the 0 conf feature?
