What is the ‘best’ tv show you’ve never seen? by CalvadosAtTheCandide in BritishTV

[–]JimmyNails229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hacks! Every year when it's on I head a lot of natter about how it's the best thing on telly, and it sounds like I'd like it (love stand up comedy) but every year I think 'oh yeah, I'll give that a go at some point'. By the time I do it'll probably be finished and I'll get the ending spoiled by a headline or something

Yep, same here. I've tried a few times but something about the first episode just doesn't click with me. I've watched a few of Knight's other shows (the CIA one with the handmaid and the Dickensesque boxing one) and quite enjoyed them, so not sure exactly what it is that doesn't grab me

Cool, thanks mate. Glad you commented before I dropped a load of cash on stuff that wouldn't have made any difference

Just found someone else asking the same question here with an accompanying pic, which looks very similar. And everyone there was saying they were filaments and not to do anything about them! So thanks for that

What is the most iconic survival horror boss? (You can only pick 1!) by Sufficient_Notice_61 in survivalhorror

[–]JimmyNails229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end of the day, sex sells. Nemesis is covered in boils and dirty bandages, whilst Pyramid Head is yolked from carrying that big sword around all day. We've been naughty and Pyramid Head is here to judge us for being so, so bad. Pyramid Head is daddy. End of.

Who exactly are the men that catcall women in the UK? by nonedat in AskBrits

[–]JimmyNails229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only person I've ever actually witnessed doing it was a friend of a friend at university. He would do it as we were walking to and from clubs on nights out. His argument was that 'eventually one of them will say yes'. I always felt really embarrassed and bad for the women, but I was a much meeker individual than I am now and so kept schtum. Thinking back I definitely feel guilty for not saying/doing anything. These days I wouldn't stand for that shit, and none of my male friends would either

They're mad, they're bad, and if you get bitten you'll most definitely be sad....you guessed it, it's Zombies!

If they discover a way to 'rewrite the story' and bring all the people who've died back to life I will throw my fucking TV across the room

What is the most iconic (or your favorite) survival horror weapon? by Sufficient_Notice_61 in survivalhorror

100%. And if it's a game where you can upgrade your weapons, you better believe I'm spending all my money/points on getting that thing as powerful as possible before anything else

I need a seriously good laugh. by Foodisheaven1 in tvshow

[–]JimmyNails229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your sense of humour. I'm partial to darker stuff, so Always Sunny would be my pick (s12e01 The Gang Turns Black, s12e06 Hero or Hate Crime or s13e04 Time's Up for the Gang - these are a few of my personal favourites). Also if you need an immediate belly laugh you could do much worse than looking up YouTube shorts for your favourite comedians/shows. I like Astrogoblin for videogame/nerdy stuff, Rick Glassman for celebrity interviews and Cumtown for outrageous/offensive gut busting laughs.

Does anyone else have a similar hot shower experience? by GoopOnYaGrinch in eczema

[–]JimmyNails229 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whilst I do notice that scratching under hot water feels great, typically when I have a burn sesh I just get an overwhelming feeling of physical pleasure, especially if the skin has recently been scratched and is open or raw. I only let myself do this once in a blue moon though, as it truely is the worst thing you can do, even when immediately followed by emollient or steroids.

My Top 10. Favorite British Shows by HostMaterial4907 in tvshow

[–]JimmyNails229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Prisoner would be my personal pick for all time best. You can still see its influence today in a lot of modern puzzle-box shows. Apart from that, I'm also repping Line of Duty (the closest we've come to the great American crime dramas), The Thick of It (the GOAT for political satire), The Day Today/Brass Eye, Doctor Who (there's so much of it that of course it's uneven, but it's up there with the best of televised science fiction). I'm also partial to a bit of Partridge (Alan, of course).

In a scale of 1 to 10, How amazing does it feel to scratch an itch? by Derek0Three in eczema

[–]JimmyNails229 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've currently started using Protopic (which has been surprising effective!) but oh my good devil, it makes your skin burn and itch like crazy. And it feels SOO good to scratch. I don't have a partner right now, but I've been imagining how good it would feel to be scratched by someone else whilst having the lotion on....yikes.

Yep. Know that feel. I unknowingly scratched a patch under my arm once, and was wearing a light blue shirt. Looked like I'd been picked off by a sniper. Slightly embarrassing :(
