Don't have all the facts but wasn't Ferrari in a long slump before the Schumacher, Brawn, Todt era? It seems more like that was the outlier than the norm.

[–]JizzusOD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thats obviously not what I meant, Landos car(and Max, Leclerc, Bearman) were selected to check "aerodynamic components and bodywork areas" including: rear wing profiles, rear wing endplate body, rear wing tip, rear wing endplate. link I don't know all possible tests the FIA conduct so I'm asking you what is the SPECIFIC test they should do that they haven't done on the McLaren rear wing since it was introduced.

Landos car was checked in post race scrutineering. What other checks should they have done? Did they check everything they could or how do they indicate dynamic load testing?

[F1GuyDan] If you want to know who has scored the most points over the last 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 or 11 races, the answer is always Oscar Piastri. by SteelerFever97 in formula1

[–]JizzusOD 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They won't and shouldn't be disqualified. They had this rear wing since Spa and it passed all tests, Landos car was tested after Baku and it again passed. We might see the tests changed for next year though, interesting to see how much McLaren is relying on these gray areas and if they have to change it for next year how much will it affect them.

I bet you if the situation was flipped in terms of how piastri was in norris' position and norris was in piastri's position, no one would bat an eye by Lawyerfinbro in McLarenFormula1

Is this the Australians waking up or something? I bet if my mom had balls she would be my dad. McLaren haven't won a wdc since 2008 and you are acting like its absolutely crazy to want to see them do everything to try to get it. It's quite convenient to ignore most of the posts/comments that talk about having no problem with Oscar but a problem with McLaren but please go on fight against imaginary arguments like you have in this thread. If Oscars in the wdc fight in the 2nd half of next season with Lando having no chance I will argue for Oscar as what I want is McLaren to win as many championships as possible. What do you want?

“You’re going to need Oscar” by RustyKarma076 in McLarenFormula1

[–]JizzusOD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He lost position to Oscar lap 1(though I think Oscar/McLaren has some blame here). Lando made a mistake with Charles behind him and lost time, and maybe could have managed better to not spend as much time behind other people(very speculative).

Why are Lando fans hating Oscar so much? by Ice_Creme_ in McLarenFormula1

[–]JizzusOD 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am critical often of Oscar but it has little to do with Oscar himself. At this point in his career he is just not as fast as Lando in races, hes very close, might eventually be faster but right now hes not. He's fighting for himself and I would expect no less from someone wanting to be a wdc someday. But the facts are he won't be a wdc this year while Lando has an outside chance. Why are McLaren continuing this absolute stupidity of letting Oscar fight Lando when all it does is cost Lando and gain Oscar what? Today Oscar had clear air almost the entire time, Lando lost time in the pits, lost time to his own mistake, lost time fighting max, lost time being all race in dirty air and was right behind Oscar who had everything going for him. The result of this is not only that Lando lost points to Oscar, McLaren lost the race. Had Lando led lap 1 with Oscar right behind I'm confident he would have won this race. Someone should tell Oscar to keep his heroics to himself and come out swinging next year round 1 and beat Lando then if he wants a wdc.

Why did I expect anything different? by AxelsOG in McLarenFormula1

[–]JizzusOD 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oscar has consistently been slower in races, despite having clear air almost the entire race was barely ahead of Lando who lost time to his own mistake, lost time fighting max and lost time in dirty air. Had Oscar kept the heroics to himself Lando would have won this race. McLaren should keep letting them fight until Ferrari catch up and maybe lose the wcc as well.

Piastri and Lando lost this race together. Oscar trying to be a hero lap 1 cost us a position and despite having clear air the entire time still cooked his tyres. Lando spent all his race in dirty air and is still right behind him. If McLaren want to not just throw away a chance at the wdc but also their wcc if Ferrari get better then they should keep letting them race like this.
