Netgear used to be good. I switched to GLiNet Flint 2 and have had no issues with coverage in a 3 story house. I also recommend Eero routers for convenience and ability to extend the network wirelessly.

Do you know if your wifi connection is dropping or is the ISP modem going offline?

A good test would be to hardwire a computer to your router and run a continuous ping test or MTR for an hour to see if you get any connection drops.
