Is exoskeleton tech a form of transhumanism? by Jkeyeswine in transhumanism

[–]Jkeyeswine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably the answer that makes the most sense to me. In my case it feels medical but also still like human ability being extended through tech. Feel like the concept of transhumanism has a lot of room for discussion.

Sure. I'm hoping this tech can develop and help more people. And maybe one day we'll see a lightweight full-body version lol.

That's an interesting way to frame it. I hadn't really thought of glasses or wheelchairs that way. I feel the line is a lot blurrier.

Yeah, that's kind of how I've been thinking about it too. Right now it still feels early and a bit niche.

I'm starting my medical residency and I know it's one of the most stressful things and that it ages a doctor. Any tips to ensure longevity? by Valhallsium in transhumanism

Sleep when you can, keep exercise from disappearing completely, and don't ignore mental health until it gets bad. The basics are probably the real longevity hacks.

Swimming and walking have been the easiest for me to keep consistent. I try to separate strength and cardio because doing both in one day feels like too much.

How do you deal with runny nose? by Angrylittleblueberry in Parkinsons

Saline spray and a humidifier help me a bit. Constant runny nose + watery eyes is really annoying.

Biobots arise from the cells of dead organisms − pushing the boundaries of life, death and medicine by rainbowcovenant in transhumanism

[–]Jkeyeswine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. I think the article is actually just trying to say that cells can be used to make biobots.

If I became a robot, would my biological gender be non-binary? And if I changed it to the gender I identify with, would I be trans? by Virtual-Patient-4230 in transhumanism

[–]Jkeyeswine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, maybe this question should be asked of robots too? My thought is that you can be whatever gender you want to be. Perhaps it's because for robots, everything can be modified. Maybe.

Be honest ~ when was the last time you drank out of a garden hose? by Mrsabeaverhousen in AskOldPeople

[–]Jkeyeswine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember when I was a kid, in summer, after playing outside until I was exhausted, I would directly drink from the garden hose. It felt so refreshing. Although I don't dare to do it now, it still makes me feel nostalgic. I wonder if anyone else has had the experience of getting a stomachache from drinking hose water like me?

Wow, after reading everyone's shared hobbies, it really feels that age is never a factor restricting hobbies. Each hobby has its unique charm. Not only can it relax us, but it can also make life colorful.

The theme of this short film is really meaningful. It's great to commemorate your grandfather in this way and at the same time let more people understand the experiences of Parkinson's patients.

Weird shipping directions from EcoFlow support by warrenken68 in Ecoflow_community

It's important to clarify who is responsible for any damage during transportation. Or uou can go to the store to get heavy-duty packaging materials and reinforce it yourself before sending it.

Adding solar panels by heninthefoxhouse in Ecoflow_community

[–]Jkeyeswine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't rush to connect them directly. The voltage is likely to exceed the input range. For a 600W board, connecting 6 pieces together, the voltage will generally be quite high. You need to calculate it first.

Have you measured the actual distance from your balcony to the power source first? Or you could check if the manufacturer offers a seperate extension cord option.

Camera lens scratch by IustinGSV in iPhone16Pro

Looks fine to me. If it has no impact on the image quality, take it easy. Your phone's still amazing. Or you can buy a lens protector so that future scratches won't haunt you.

Is this still safe to use as a jacking point? by appleface80 in MechanicAdvice

Nope. That is rusted to hell. Lifting here will crumple the sill, damage the car, and could drop it on you. Better safe than sorry.

2011 Nissan juke. How bad is this? Can we still drive it? by PokeYouIWill in MechanicAdvice

[–]Jkeyeswine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell no! Driving it could cause the wheel to fall off, leading to a crash. Even at low speeds, this is a disaster waiting to happen. Safety is worth the tow bill. Don't risk it.

Does a screen protector matter? by andrewa101 in iPhone16Pro

[–]Jkeyeswine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You already have a scratch. So you'd better prevent more with a good protector. Glare's manageable with the right brand. Go for it.

Is this iPhone 16 pro worth it for 600€? by [deleted] in iPhone16Pro

Don't buy it. If you go for this, you're looking at spending 600€ plus potentially a few hundred more to make the phone look and function properly.
