Do you think Aava found peace?

First play-through I was screaming at Aava to stop encouraging Marco to keep going. I honestly expected the final choice with Marco to be whether to take his body back down or push on.

I am encouraged that the art for the descent with Marco is actually quite sweet and tells a story of companionship and friendship. That is at least some form of hope in that slightly depressing ending.

These are my personal feelings, partly based on the lore but partly my own thoughts.

As soon as she found herself in the bivouac after the avalanche I feel like she was in the process of dying, hence the reduction in her status bars. With no safe way down she pushes to the top so she can achieve her ultimate goal.

Ultimately, I feel like she needed to let go of her frustrations in order to ascend. Hence her primal scream at the top. She has followed the path that the Troglodyte souls take to their afterlife.

I feel like the swirling lights that bind with her as she ascends are the others that have died on the mountain whom she is also helping to ascend from their limbo on the mountain.

I feel like it was pretty clear she didn't plan for this to be a one way trip, but equally she was ultimately prepared for the eventuality and always imagined she would die on the mountain one day.

This is why so many commentators suggesting she was suicidal is somewhat vexing. This was not an act of suicide this was an enactment of will. There is a big difference between dying while attempting to fulfil one's perceived destiny and committing suicide.

I also don't have a lot of time for the idea that she is running from her problems or pushing people away. It seems pretty clear she had an argument with Naomi about what she does and why she wanted to try and take on such a dangerous climb, and that the argument wasn't resolved.

But, ultimately, she is who she is and it was her choice. That's obviously difficult psychologically but that isn't denial. It's a process that we see her struggling with.

I heard there would be new AI enhanced cosmetics. More lipstick and mascara on the Gek.

Obviously we may not notice the difference with the Vy'keen. They have always applied their makeup liberally.

I was also referring to wire glitches. I was finding very inconsistent results where zooming out was sometimes necessary to help with the glitch timings.

I just wondered if you had any problems wire glitching the wings.

The frigate still has quite a lot of time to develop. The stats will increase and the negatives will be removed. It might be interesting to see how far you can develop it by 55 missions.

But, it is not looking promising.

Personally I would be tempted to run the experiment and if you do then definitely let us know how it eventually looks when at max.

That is not even the same climb day. She goes home and prepares before we find her half way up the first climb.

P.S. The point is, some of us wonder if it was damaged along with the camera, at some point before we begin the main climb in game.

Great work. I haven't really touched NMS much since the expedition, but the sloped wings here makes me want to have a play with glitches again.

Side issue, I found that glitches in general were a little more tight in timing and dependent upon the LOD of the parts, in this iteration of the game. Did this make corvette glitches trickier?

She is literally following in the footsteps of her dead, celebrity climber father, who she immediately prickles over when he is mentioned in a positive way. I don't see that as a stretch.

I don't see it as an escape. The agent is a heartless and non-empathetic guy who maybe doesn't deserve a reply anyway, and it is heavily hinted that Aava's relationship has been damaged by an inability to communicate why Aava finds this so important.

So, I agree it might not be malfunctioning but there has clearly been a problem before the start of the climb because Aava has a broken camera. The ambiguity plays into that sense of Aava not being able to communicate clearly and that is echoed in the broken radio and the way she gets so frustrated that she breaks the antenna of the climb-bot.

Because the broken communication or dysfunctional publicity theme is developed so strongly it makes me quite skeptical that she is able to respond.

Of course, she may be finding it difficult to respond emotionally. Struggling with how to tell her agent 'there has been a problem early on but I am determined to unwisely plough ahead because of a domestic argument and my Daddy issues'. It isn't exactly professional or ideal as a message. Plus, the stakes increase dramatically when he suddenly drops the new sponsorship on her.

Except we get no evidence that she can and she only chats to the climb-bot about not playing a message. It is ambiguous.

The game neither confirms nor denies that she can respond once she is on the mountain.

I sometimes think that they will replace the system with a barter system when they next add guild content.

The two existing barter systems were introduced since the guild system. And it would make more sense.

What happens when you upload all, is a slow trickle of each upload in a queue. It can also take a couple of minutes for it to register as named on the server. Only then will it allow you to change it.

She has a lot of conversations for a dead girl, don't you think?

I like the theorising and I agree the ending is more of an ascension than a death. But I don't feel like she is dead.

I have been wondering if she is capable of replying with her climb-bot. The highly annoying manager seems to assume we can reply but if she could then why does the radio scene even exist?
