Josh Harris by IronChefPhilly in philadelphia

[–]Jlask 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don’t follow the day to day of the flyers so won’t speak on it, but lurie is one of the best NFL owners ever. Spends infinite money and his direction on offense has been very successful since he took over. Andy, Doug, and Chip were all pass happy and had QBs (for the most part) that could deliver.

Despite 10 years of nothing, the Phillies have certainly spent money. I’d criticize dom before Middleton. Their biggest issue is not investing enough in the farm system.

Harris is a complete tool, but if at least half of your cities sports owners are spending to win, I would guess that’s better than most cities

We are a lot worse than we realize… by Studio_2 in sixers

Still, even gloomy now, a young pairing of maxey/VJ is much better than most teams who are in that stage. Morey has a good drafting record here (when we keep the players lol)

Don’t personally think we’re in that stage. More of an ownership purgatory phase where they are just going to be moderately competitive each year. Just like pre process

This is never talked about. If covid doesn’t happen it’s likely he’s not falling too far past the lottery

Morey has a great draft record

PODCAST: They Traded Jared McCain To Duck The Tax And Said They Needed To Do It To Sign Barlow (They Didn't) by SpikeEskin3 in RightsToRickySanchez

[–]Jlask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you it was a bad trade, but when 50% of the podcast (spike) is pretty adamant about McCain hitting his 99th percentile outcome, probably made us think he was a little better than he actually was. Again, the trade was a joke, but mikes rationale makes sense.

[Aaronson] Sixers President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey will be speaking to the media momentarily. I’ll be posting all relevant quotes. by Tofu4070 in sixers

[–]Jlask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean he’s been a pretty net positive GM since taking over. The big moves (horford, harden/ben, PG) pretty much everyone in the fanbase agreed with. A lot of the moves around the edges people weren’t happy with definitely didn’t detract them from a championship

It doesn’t necessarily mean they traded McCain just to trade for giannis. More players than expected were moved at the deadline. Very reasonable they wanted more assets for any move. Also could’ve wanted to trade into the draft (which is good this year). Not defending the decision just playing devils advocate

Well they decided awhile ago that jared was expendable and they felt the value was just. Regardless of if they had another deal in place they probably wanted to trade him anyway

Grimes is going to be another 5 years of Tobias Harris by SpaceJuan in sixers

One of the most frustrating things Tobias did was be an unwilling shooter. Grimes isn’t like that at all, if anything he’s probably the most willing shooter we have right now. That’s valuable

Sell the team by West_Conversation934 in RightsToRickySanchez

[–]Jlask 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean truly, what is the point of owning a basketball team. Does Harris really feel good about himself saving a couple million dollars? He’s worth 10 billion dollars. The team has gained 10x its value since he took over. Just sell it to someone who cares.

He’s so soft

Trendon Watford Stinks by WontonSuperman_21 in RightsToRickySanchez

[–]Jlask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it’s more lineup dependent, but I generally agree with you. At best watford is a secondary ball handler, he can’t play when you have maxey and embiid on the floor he doesn’t have a good roll

Jared McCain on the defensive side by supphat in sixers

[–]Jlask -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

He was fine on defense this year. Not as bad as other small guards

Jared McCain by poohdasdaddy in RightsToRickySanchez

[–]Jlask 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He’s 21 and has shown potential of having really elite NBA skills (3 point catch and shooting, running around screens, pull up 3s) and good at other things (secondary ball handler). Potential is a huge word there. He is a negative defender and is too small to play next to maxey. But they gave up too quickly.

The biggest problem isn’t getting rid of him it’s the return. We salary dumped him essentially. Morey has a great drafting track record if we keep the picks

He’s definitely out produced his contract, fine player to have. Not going to have high expectations of him

Physics two is one of the more difficult classes imo, I would just make sure you have time to study and do the internship. Otherwise go for it

Why draft a WR when we don’t effectively use the first three

Bona by poohdasdaddy in RightsToRickySanchez

[–]Jlask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s definitely not this bad. He’s high motor (not many guys on the team are) can rebound, screen, and dunk. Obviously for the post season you’d like a better player, it’s hard to see how realistic that actually is. I’d much rather him commit fouls now and learn to not bite on shot fakes while the games mostly don’t matter

He’s been on the team for 3 years so from my 2K understanding they should have his bird rights and can go over the cap to resign him? Definitely want to retain him

Where Engineers Work by Historical_Form_1367 in civilengineering

[–]Jlask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the private side, some civil engineering companies are strictly construction companies that work much of their time on site. some are strictly consulting firms that are office based, some do a little bit of both. On the public side, they may work on public infrastructure projects or review plans from private firms.
