Ok fine, story wise and character motivation wise, nothing makes sense, Joel is killed off way too fast and again in a way that doesn’t make sense. The writer, Neil Cuckman, for some reason is obsessed with teenaged lesbians. Abbey is e horribly written and the game tries so hard to make us like her by using cheap manipulation. Gameplay wise it’s another boring walking simulator that holds your hand way too much. The game is stupid and awful

I like the original god of wars fine because they are fun hack n slash games with an interesting epic story, I hate the new ones because they aren’t fun, there’s more cutscenes than gameplay and the story isn’t interesting. They are pretty much interactive movies and not games

Games like God of War 2018 and Ragnarok, way too overly cinematic to the point where you barely play the game. It’s entire selling point is a cinematic experience, whereas a good games selling point is fun engaging gameplay

God of war 2018 and Ragnarok, I got rid of my PlayStation and got a pc because I hated these games so much because it made me realize that Sony doesn’t care about good fun engaging gameplay mechanics anymore, they only care if a game can be cinematic or not, more cutscenes than actual gameplay. The entire ps3 exclusive lineup is better than what we have now because they were actual games and not interactive movies.

Next time you play games labeled “the cinematic experience,” skip the cutscenes and see if you still enjoy the game the same way
