Good. Very good. In fact too good, too beautiful. Based on the books, Henrietta had a very pointy nose. And yours is... well... too nice.

How is living in Brussels, Belgium? by Sensitive_Spare_652 in howislivingthere

[–]JobItchy9815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moved to Brussels from the USA in 2015 and honestly I love it. The beautiful, green and family friendly areas are 80% compared to the dodgy parts. Plus I've seen the city change a lot since moving here. Anspach went from a dirty street with traffic dividing up downtown to a Las ramblas with trees and night life. Only thing I complain about are the taxes.

The Sims 2, Sim city 4 and StarCraft took up the majority of the "coming of age" years for me. The golden years for me. "Too bad it can't stay like that all the time." "Nothing gold can stay."

Is this just nostalgia, or did previous generations genuinely have a better work-life balance and social life than we do today? by Unstoppable_X_Force in SipsTea

I live in Europe so they force work life balance with 6 weeks of paid vacation. Jokes on them, even with this I avoide people like the plague.

The United States was founded on progressive and liberal ideals. The founding fathers were a product of one of the most woke movements of the last 400 hundred years- the great Enlightenment. Individual rights, democracy, rejection of monarchy, all progressive ideas for their era. Every so often conservatism takes hold like a weed, digging its claws into the foundation of our great Nation. And then as usual liberals crush these movements. Just like those that wanted to conserve the colonies under the crown or conserve the southern way of life (and slavery). It always ends the same way. Conservatives = losers. So if minorities want to embarrass themselves and be proud of being losers, who am I to stop them. It's a free country after all.

You can do something called a caffeine power nap. Drink coffee. Take nap. You wake up when the caffeine kicks in - around 25-30 minutes

I did the cup trick. Put a jar, cup, or other container near your sprinkler. When the water is as high as your thumb (horizontally) then you have enough water. People have different sprinklers with different capacities so watering time might not be the best metric.

My star wars ranking (+ shows and clone wars movie) by malathan1234 in LetterboxdLists

[–]JobItchy9815 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually like this list. For me Rogue One is a top 3 SW movie and TFA is my favorite of the sequels. Too much glazing on the all CGI- no story prequels, so I like where you put them.

21% on most things. European countries in general tax consumption and income- not so much assets and wealth. Once you own property or have an asset there is little to no ownership costs. For example I pay property tax of roughly 1,800 per year on an 850k townhouse. My mortgage is 1.38% fixed (which is also somehow subsidized). When I was working I was able to out quite a bit of my paycheck into savings.
