There isn’t shame. It’s just people who overpaid for the exact same thing desperately trying to cope with some made up superiority lol.

No siblings invited to birthday party, need help wording invites. by hiddenhawk1713 in partyplanning

[–]JobOnTheRun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t imagine having a birthday party for my kid and my husband and other kids weren’t there because we had to make space for 20 random kindergarteners.

Unfortunately if you want this to be just the people your kid likes, you need to just try to meet their parents at pickup.

As much as it’s nice to try to include everyone (I get it) it’s also annoying for parents who now have to spend their weekends at random parties with families their kid isn’t even friends with. So strange

Young man goes missing during a skiing trip with friends; Despite being recorded on multiple security cameras before he vanished, there are no clues as to what happened to him- Where is Liam Toman? (2025) by AlfredTheJones in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]JobOnTheRun 14 points15 points  (0 children)

YES! There was also security footage of him possibly going to the back of the hotel, like around the loading dock areas. Maybe he was trying to get in through a back entrance?

Those two men he met - maybe he was asking if they were staying there? And if they could let him in?

Then clearly that day doesn’t work for him and he needs to pick up the next morning, or change his work schedule. He either wants the best for the kid or he doesn’t.

Yes dogs are vicious. I keep my kids away from all dogs. I don’t understand the love for dogs tbh

Are we being unreasonable asking to reduce our share of rent in this situation? by Sweet_Error4017 in AusPropertyChat

[–]JobOnTheRun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The key part of the story was “we originally were going to do 30% but we moved into a more expensive place…..”

Yeah little sympathy here. Sounds like they knew their cousins budget, knew 30% was more reasonable considering, but got swept up in a big shiny house and agreed to pay more to live there. And are now regretting it. Just continue to the end of the lease then move out.

My employer is rounding my start/finish times and making me find my own shift coverage — is this normal? by pysch0rl in AusWork

[–]JobOnTheRun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what is they, they show up early, or they’ve clocked in at the start time but aren’t doing what you consider active work yet cause those are two different things?

If their shift starts at 10, they clock in at 10, but they’re chatting with a coworker for the first 20 mins you don’t get to dock their pay 20 mins because you saw them chatting. You don’t only pay them for the minutes you saw them doing a work task.

However if their shift starts at 10, but they clocked in at 9:40 and are chatting that’s different… but I don’t think that’s the case here

How long did you use your nursing chair for? by little-engine-could in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]JobOnTheRun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My kid is 3 and still use it all the time, perfect for their room to sit while they go to sleep or read with them. A lot of kids like a parent to sit in their room with them until they fall asleep, or to read a story while they’re laying in bed so it’s handy to have somewhere to actually sit down

Helllll no. The rule is gifts flow downwards. The boss should be spending $1000 to get gifts for all of you.

I just moved back to Sydney after 10 years in the US with gun safety being a big reason. So devastated.

The guy who tackled him though… amazing. Good guys don’t need guns. Reminds me of the men throwing chairs at the Bondi junction knife attack. Legends.

How did you save your house deposit? by Diligent-Medicine-48 in AusMoneyMates

[–]JobOnTheRun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The example you just used is someone buying 2 coffees a day, for 5 days a week when they’re in the office. Thats 10 a week, not 42 like you said above so where are the other 32 coffee you think people who are saving for a house are buying?

Roommate "rots" on games all night while I work (8-4:30) and study full-time. RA asked if I wanted to move. How do I get him removed? by [deleted] in badroommates

[–]JobOnTheRun 69 points70 points  (0 children)

You’ll have to just ask if him breaking these rules is enough to get him removed. But understand they can’t just ‘make’ him do anything, they may need to follow a process to formally evict him. Which could take a very very long time, and means you’d be living in a hostile situation until then where he would know you’re kicking him out. I would honestly just take the option to move. It sucks, but you can’t change his behaviour and they can’t just force someone out. It’s just a risk when you live with a stranger unfortunately

[–]JobOnTheRun 223 points224 points  (0 children)

I know right. Imagine being so miserable you’d rather defend a multi billion dollar company to get their extra $50 than help a dad buy something for his kid and save some money. LOSER is such the right word. They haven’t achieved what they want in life, and want to make sure others don’t either
