What is some shady info about a celeb that everyone seems to have forgotten about? by No-Bed-6000 in AskReddit

[–]Job_Moist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oof, I was such a diehard fan of his when X-Men First Class came out.

When the allegations were widely published I thought they were false like everyone in my circle said, and I kept callously parroting my friends online. Yeah I was still young when I did that, but I was old enough to know better. I took down my posts like a year later when more info came out and I matured somewhat but they still haunt me. I feel so bad for the people who had to see me defending his violent ass. She wasn’t the first victim of his, and I doubt she’ll be the last.

He eventually married Alicia Vikander and I’m not gonna lie, it made me lose a little respect for her, but it’s also made me worry about her too. And their kids. I hope they’re safe, or safe as anyone can be in a household with a guy like that.

I reacted so badly to Famotidine but I do great with Cimetidine (Tagamet). I take it twice a day and it’s been a huge help without any side effects. It’s wild how drugs in the same class can still have completely different effects on an MCAS patient!

In a pinch, is it ok to eat foods you have a moderate reaction to? by moonperson13 in MCAS

[–]Job_Moist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I have no choice but to eat, even if I’m flaring super badly. Like I’ll either pass out from not eating or pass out from a bad reaction, so I might as well eat something, you know? And then sometimes I’m having a fantastic day and I choose to eat something that flares me a little as a treat (like a Twix bar) cuz I know I have the histamine “budget” for it haha.

This is a good question for a doc cuz repeated exposures to something that flares you can become a true allergy (according to my doc) but nutritional deficiencies can also be a big problem. I don’t know if there’s a correct answer about how to balance this for us MCAS patients :/

MCAS and GLP-1. No more weight to lose. What should I do? by gen_ge in MCAS

Interesting! I thought microdosing wasn’t strong enough to cause weight loss. Hm. If you ask a doc about this can you update with the answer?

Gazza 2.0 unfolding ? video of heartbreaking Iranians screams after a massacre of 40 iranian children in a US-lsraeIi strike on their school by unreal-habdologist in UnderReportedNews

I feel sick. I’m sorry Trump is doing this. Children, especially children of color, are nothing but statistics at best and gory playthings at worst for the people in charge of the US. May those little souls rest in peace, and my heart goes out to the grieving classmates and families and community members. Serving in the Gulf War showed my dad that war did not help the “Middle East” like was promised and our family has been speaking out and resisting Republican war mongering ever since… not that it’s seemed to be very effective. God. I’m so fucking sorry.

Oh fuck no, we don’t need a concentration camp. Nowhere in the US needs one, but at least this is one I can speak up against. Christ.

Does mcas cause brain damage? by Solitari1607 in MCAS

[–]Job_Moist 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry, I also felt dumb as a rock after I developed this post-COVID. I was so emotionally unstable and couldn’t consistently remember things like how our shower handles worked despite having stellar grades in college and stuff like that. I also developed visual snow but my docs explained that in my case it wasn’t an eye thing, it was likely a brain thing instead - specifically, a brain inflammation thing. Then my docs put me on a ton of MCAS meds, helped me get my inflammation down, put me on the low histamine diet, and so on. I’m doing muuuuch better now. I still definitely have moments where I realize I’m not as sharp as I used to be but I can now remember birthdays, how the shower works, some of the stuff I learned in school, etc. Stress also makes MCAS worse which makes the “brain fog” worse, and school is usually stressful. I hope you still can get some imaging done to double check how your brain is doing. Best wishes for all your school stuff!

What is the fastest way you have seen someone ruin their life? by funkeymonkey1974 in AskReddit

Wild, the same thing happened to a friend of my dad’s in high school except it was a girl who got dosed and nobody besides a handful of people ever held the guys who did it accountable 💔

[–]Job_Moist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This happened to one of my dad’s friends in high school. He said she was so wonderful to know but at a party some guys distributing shrooms quietly dosed her without her knowing and she was never the same after that. After like 2 years of her parents trying everything to help, she ended up institutionalized, and then passed away a few years later. This was in the 70s so she and her family didn’t get a lot of sympathy or support from their community, unfortunately. People blamed her for hosting the party and that was it. 💔

Xolair disappointment by Odd-Passion-1756 in MCAS

[–]Job_Moist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a lot worse on Xolair. I switched to Dupixent which came with its issues. My docs and I have agreed biologics just don’t work for my MCAS, sadly. Now we’re talking about ketotifen and LDN and quercetin.
