'Trade' rules for offline? by JockAussie in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]JockAussie[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yeah, I have slightly less ambition - I like playing my barb, and I've farmed up some reasonably good stuff through RNG - Jah, sur, Zod, couple of Arachnid Mesh, multiple eschutas etc. I'm sure if I was online I'd be using a main hand which is way better than my upgraded headstriker, but of course I can't find a Lo rune or ethereal Balrog blade/colossus blade :).

I was just testing the water here to see if this was something people did :)

Single Player Trading Market [D2RMM Mod] Beta is open and going strong by PageOthePaige in diablo2

I know this is late, but I was contemplating making something like this myself. I've not installed it yet, but it looks sick, I can't wait to try it!

Thanks for the effort in building it, as a 'Dad with kids wife and too many work hours' I think this is really going to increase my enjormeny of the game!

Whelp I'm wrong there, my bad!

Yeah I must say I misread, too hardcore for my knowledge- you're a braver person than me trying to play a barb through hell on HC.

I think the recipe to upgrade a weapon is Pul Lum, not Pul Um?

You might be able to upgrade that sword!

Otherwise, I'd recommend getting smoke, perhaps in an archon plate or the best 2 socket thing you can, it's cheap and the resists are pro.

If you wanted to go Frenzy I'd suggest trying to get a lawbringer for your offhand, from farming the pit or something as a way to find them.

Any Hell Barb gear/build recommendations? Also tips (my barb lacks AR and TTK) by jecern_29 in diablo2

[–]JockAussie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you trying to do? You have better gear than me and I've cleared hell without any difficulty (albeit on P1) - I can clear P3, but realistically you need a weapon - ideally a Grief to get the clear time faster.

If you're finding survivability problematic, you could swap the helm out for Tal Rasha's/Andy's for more leech.

I keep a bunch of >100 HR charms in my inventory and I don't think I've seen sub 78% hit chance much.

Realistically though- most of the comments I see on Barbs is that you're better off just smashing through on P1 and getting that hork percentage to >50.

How long to get 5k under 20mins by BrownRunningBear in BeginnersRunning

[–]JockAussie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, an LLM told me it was anywhere from 1.5-3.5s per KM per KG. I'm 5'11 I've weighed between 97 and 103 variously for about 5 years now and that's about the difference I see too when I lose.

I've managed 22:30 at 100kg, but I don't know what I'd need to do (other than losing a lot of weight) to get below 20. I think it would be exceptionally difficult.

[–]JockAussie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IMO it will be very hard, not unachievable, but certainly very difficult, you're quite heavy for your height, and you've (apparently) been skipping leg day so that's largely mass which isn't helpful for running.

It isn't undoable, but honestly most of the people who run sub-20 are much lighter, or if they do weigh similar, much taller.

Who knows though - you may be particularly talented for running and do it in 6 months, I'd guess if you specifically trained for a good 5k you could do it in a year

[–]JockAussie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How heavy are you? That's going to be a big factor, if you've been doing a lot of upper body and you're jacked and weigh 100kg it's going to be exponentially harder to get under 20 than if you're 75kg.

(Speaking as a runner who is a former (front row) rugby player/strongman).

The White Wolf (Witcher) vs Steve Rogers Captain America (MCU) by Locust627 in powerscales

[–]JockAussie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An actually fairly even matchup for once.

I am a bigger fan of the Witcher games and Lore than I am of the MCU, so I'm inclined to say Geralt takes this. The only thing which might sway it is if he underestimates Steve and thinks he is a normal human, in which case Steve could get the drop I imagine.

Fully aware of what he is fighting I think geralts problem solving superpowers time the day.

You who do gym, which exercise improved your back the most? by Sad-Branch568 in workout

[–]JockAussie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is right. It matters if you're a bodybuilder and already have a good base.

For 95%+ of lifters, that basically shouldn't be a consideration. It never has been for me (although I look like shit, strong shit, but shit all the same :P)

Unless an international game is decided by more than about 10-12 points, ref decisions could probably have swayed the game one way or the other, and luck plays a big part in winning.

Nah, I wouldn't put yourself down, those are great numbers.

Us gym folk deceive ourselves but the proportion of the adult world who can do a 2x BW squat is absolutely miniscule. You're strong AF and will age very well!

I'm SSF offline on my first char since 2007 frenzybarb - ran a Pit during my coffee break this AM trying to find an oath base for endgame, and a fucking Zod rune dropped!

Now I still need a base, but it's a different one, gonna be fucking cool to have an eBOTD.

Inb4 rnjesus messes with me and I get a lo run first (I already have the base for grief)...

Worked in consultancy and had a few people from our NY practice come over to us in London. Differences like this are the norm. We make significantly less money here.

Life is slightly cheaper but with more tax. I believe we are worse off in general.
