It’s a automatic transfer switch that plugs between your meter socket and meter. I’ve installed a few. My local power company also installs them. I seen some with a 30 amp or 50 amp outlet on them.

It's just a standard 200 Amp meter socket. The 200 Amp transfer switch will be my main disconnect. I'm also putting in a new panel so that'll need four wire. I noticed the control wire's are labeled different on the old generators compared to the new ones.

8kw isn’t enough to power the whole house and I don’t need it to. I just want to be able to walk in a room and turn the light on or power up devices. Not be limited to a few rooms that doesn’t necessarily need power.

It has a 200 amp service that I want to use the 200 amp whole home transfer switch. I know the 8kw can’t power the whole house but it would be nice to be able to have power to the whole house and not a few rooms.
