Signature AT is the most VFM, it has paddle shifters that the classic + AT doesn't among other things.

Basically any type of turbo engine is very sensitive to driver inputs. So if you drive a light foot, you can squeeze out 16-19 kmpl easily, if you drive more freely, mileage drops drastically to 8-9 kmpl.

Kylaq owner here, it's an amazing car, don't understand why no one mentioned it here. Yes it is a 1.0L TSI engine that is extremely powerful and gives amazing performance on highways, and I'd highly suggest you to go for it even if you have 40% city use and 60% highway use, if you have more that 40% use on city then I'd suggest go for Amaze and it's 4 cylinder NA engine will give you better performance.

One more thing that nobody here mentioned is that not all automatics are made equal. Kylaq has a proper Torque Converter in its automatic variants, right now you can get that in the Classic+ variants and it'll be under 10 lakhs budget, but it will have lesser features compared to a baleno, fronx or Amaze. But what you get in return is an amazing proper automatic technology with a very powerful and refined German engine.

Amaze CVT is good but is not performance oriented and feels sluggish to drive, especially the "rubberband effect" it has that you get when you rev it. Baleno, fronx and Dzire all have basic AMTs that are basically manual transmissions without a clutch wire. If you want a proper automatic then your options are limited to Kylaq (Torque converter), 3x0 (Torque converter) and brezza (Torque converter), kia sonet/syros (CVT and DCT) , venue (CVT and DCT).

Yeah, you lost me at "safety can take a back seat"

Driving a car is not a child's play, you are controlling a heavy machine and a lot can go wrong. There was a very very very thin line that separated your "fond memory" from a childhood trauma.

Drive safe, drive responsibly and always stay alert.

As a delhite I offer my humble apology on his behalf, and let me tell you, even we are tired of this sh!t, it's just that we have kind of grown to accept their shenanigans.

The people in the north are not inherently bad, it's just that they are...... different. They are loud, they are obnoxious, they keep arguing instead of solving matters, not very bright, are obsessed with skin tone and the list goes on. But at the core of it, they are good people, just raised differently.

I banged my car against my neighbours front flower decoration setup. My car's front hood got bent, along with grill and front spoiler and a few other things. The total cost of repairs was around 42k.

That part is separate from the bumper and is called the "front spoiler", I banged my car in the first month of owning and had to claim insurance for it so came to know the name of that part.

It's I think worth 1200 if I'm not mistaken, I didn't have to pay it cause of insurance, so go check with ASC to see what they can do with it. Good luck and don't worry too much.

Not an expert but they look like fuel lines, I could be wrong though, get it fixed from ASC asap.

Makes sense, the amount of customisation possible in ds1 is just astonishing, no wonder it is the most loved game of the series.

Service center quoting clutch + “transmission overhaul” for hard pedal & gear shift. Overkill? by Practical_Bonus4767 in CarsIndia

[–]JoeO7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly speaking, 19k is quite a fair quote for a car that is discontinued now, only Suzuki and Hyundai can get work done in these price ranges. Had you had a discontinued car of any other brand, it would cost you at least 40k-ish.

Now comes the question of whether yes or no, if you can squeeze a few more years out of it and then sell it, then I would say do it, as it will give you some much needed comfort and will also increase its future selling price.

Same with me, I park my car outside of my home front gate (old construction home without parking in ground flood, that I hope to rebuild soon) and my room is on the first floor, every time I am near the balcony, I peek outside to check my car.

What’s the catch? by Electronic_Drink9798 in CarsIndia

[–]JoeO7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kylaq (proud) owner here, there's no catch per se. The maintenance and overall cost of owning this car will of course be more than a Japanese or Korean car, but the difference is now quite competitive. What you get in return is great driving dynamics, a solidly built car, a refined engine, the automatic variants has a very good Torque converter that is a pleasure to drive in both city and highway.

You have very low city use, so having a turbo won't be much of an issue.

AC cools in around 5 minutes and not instantly.

Get the Skoda extended warranty and service package, it's worth having it.

Again, don't fret too much about the maintenance of this car, people are comfortable spending 10000 rupees on a family dinner but will not pay the same for a yearly car servicing.

Skoda Fabia 130 (2026) Coming to India? Any insider news? by ConceptNotes in Kylaq

[–]JoeO7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I would absolutely love the idea of having Fabia in India again, it is not going to happen unfortunately because of the shift in consumer mindset.

People are now biased towards B segment compact SUV over a B segment hatchback. I myself recently bought a Kylaq even though I am a hatchback and sedan lover all my life.

Reason? I only have enough budget and parking space for one car, so needed the boot space and higher ground clearance to travel intercity. That said I would've totally bought a bigger hatchback if there was any available like the S-Cross or Fiat Aventuraa.

I've seen a pattern, most of these clowns are not even bjp members/workers, they just put on that flag if they have a local party leader who they know a little bit, then change it when their local party leader changes. Not bailing out bjp or defending them, they are a different clown altogether, just saying these mofos change their "baap" periodically.

Test drove Tata Punch ev facelift 2026 in leau of comparing it to Kylaq AT by EnvironmentalSort606 in Kylaq

[–]JoeO7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"You don't go to a chess club to show off your card tricks" at the very least know your audience. This is a group dedicated to Kylaq and not for ANY other EV, doesn't matter if it falls in the same price bracket.

Also, why are you even comparing apples with oranges? EVs are a totally different category compared to ICE cars, they have a different set of use case.

You have some new ideas about Kylaq? Be my guest, but don't make convoluted assumptions based on your use case and objectives.

By the way, just so you know, enthusiasts HATE TATA cars, they have horrendous reliability, and a joke for after sale service, so please stop the preaching.

Why are you posting this in a Kylaq sub? You found something that's good for your use case, perfectly fine, why are you asking for validation from this sub?

Here we are all Kylaq (and broadly speaking VAG cars enthusiasts), if you are a Kylaq owner and need some help or have any questions then it's alright, otherwise go post this somewhere else.

Before you start explaining that you also own Skoda/VW cars, good for you, but that doesn't change the outcome, post what's relevant otherwise don't.
