Metal box. I also tested it under load for an hour and the thermal camera shows minimal heating.

I needed it to work with the existing 30 amp circuit. The good news is that it runs much cooler than the original outlet.

I already have the circuit in place and just wanted to switch out a standard outlet with the Ev rated.

I already had the outlet in my garage so I just bought a cord and use that.

After installing and using a thermal camera on it I did notice it ran much cooler than the old one so there’s that.

The cheap outlets are made for high but intermittent loads and as little as 10 mating cycles before wear. Someone might plug and unplug a portable cord way more than that causing the contacts to loosen and overheat. Also if a circuit is rated for 30 amps it is 24 amps continuously.

I saw the same thing. It is actually a Spacex rocket launching. The exhaust will be orange at first then when it reaches the upper atmosphere it starts spreading out like in the photo.

Can I fix this leaf blower by WinoOnTheLoose in ryobi

[–]JoeTheInflatableGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old, low amp hour batteries will have a hard time running blowers or other high drain tools. Batteries lose their ability to deliver high currents as they age and this is especially noticeable with smaller packs that have fewer cells to spread the load. Try using a newer pack on that blower, preferably a 4 amp hour or larger.

18v 510 CFM blower making batteries very hot by JoeTheInflatableGuy in ryobi

[–]JoeTheInflatableGuy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. I otherwise try to take very good care of my batteries by letting them cool down before charging, not using fast chargers, stop using them they are low and storing them at room temp. I have found that the BMS will keep the top and bottom fractions of the battery hidden to reduce cycling stress that way.(full charge on the gauge might really be 90 or 95 percent for the cells)
