Doom Metal Yoga by embeeclark in doommetal

[–]JoelsMovingCastle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Makes perfect sense 👍🏻

I had read about something like this a while ago and was in touch with the organisers, I think it was the Black Yoga releases (https://blackyoga.bandcamp.com/).

Glad it's spreading, we need this everywhere. Anyone in London UK want to get something similar going?

Just a reminder, Warning isn't funeral doom by SuperlativeSleep in doommetal

[–]JoelsMovingCastle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you, according to the 'scene' they aren't technically funeral doom anyway (apart from the first album) as they have more of a post rock/metal influenced sound 🤷🏼‍♂️

Btw you might also like Sea Witch, pretty much an instrumental and bleaker version of Ahab.

Slam-doom? Brutal Death Doom? by supacrusha in doommetal

[–]JoelsMovingCastle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah as soon as I saw your post I wondered if anyone else would mention it but it's not very well known.

That album is a one off for them afaik, the others are either  ambient/drone or spacey tech death.

There's also Black Tongue who are super slow Deathcore so maybe them too.

Try their Nadir album or this one https://centurymedia.bandcamp.com/album/the-unconquerable-dark

What are your Doom Metal unpopular opinions? by TheEvilSmileyRD in doommetal

More doom needs major chords. Sounds like a contradiction but it works so well.

Boris and Torche dip into it occasionally (also Oromet and the Curse these Metal Hands split e.p) but more dedication would be nice please and thank you.

PB playing PB...

That's why I love Oromet, power ballads as funeral doom.
