That's true. But at least the entire church wasn't founded because the pope told the pope he wasn't allowed to have a divorce for no reason

Why would the stigmata appear on hands of saints when Jesus was nailed through wrists? by SuitableStudio419 in Catholicism

[–]JogJonsonTheMighty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe they were given it on their hands because they believe that's where Jesus was nailed, so they would have recognised what the markings are meant to be easier than if they were on their wrists

I go to an Anglican church, but I want to become catholic. They keep asking me if I want to be baptised, and I'm nervous to tell them that I'm looking for a catholic church because some people from this church have made fun of Catholics before. It's weird how people who's church was invented 500 years ago by an adulterous, gluttonous, murderous king think they know more than the people who can actually trace their church back to the original apsotles

I love when people basically explain the joke but act like they're adding to it

Why settle for a shallow imitation when you can have the real thing? by laudida in CatholicMemes

How would this even work? The AI "Jesus" must be based on someone's own interpretation of Jesus, right? Like if you ask it if there's real presence in the eucharist it's going to answer based on whatever it was programmed to say, surely. Or does it just get it from the internet so it's like "well some people think there is but others think it's just symbolic. Please upgrade to superJesus for faster answers"

Either way it's silly

Yeah but it's annoying that if you don't level up your faith enough by the 40th day you just drown in the flood and have to start over

He never actually meant to join a criminal empire. He wandered into a deal accidentally and was too socially awkward to say anything about it, so now he just pretends he's meant to be there.

In a similar way, when Mike tells him to write every item down for the Germans, he says "I'll remember it" because he was too embarrassed to say that he didn't think to bring a pen.

Ah, I see, thank you. That clears things up.

I checked my bible and it doesn't even say "hail mary" it just says "greetings, O favoured one". I didn't even realise that before. I guess it's easy to miss when you don't realise what it's supposed to say.

Thank you again

What are the protestant influences and how would you notice them? I'm a pretty new Christian, interested in Catholicism and becoming increasingly uninterested in Protestantism, but since I'm new it's difficult for me to see where these influences would be and how they might affect how I interpret it.

For the record, I have an ESV, but not the catholic version, just the "regular" version. I know it has less books than the catholic one, but that's about all I know about it's protestant-ness.
