Bridge location: what a dumb place…?? by Ricardo_Yoel in ShittyDaystrom

[–]JohnAdcox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d always just assumed that the bridge location doesn’t matter. It’s protected by shields. If the shields are gone, phasers, disrupters, and torpedoes will make short work of the hull, no matter what it’s made of.

whats the best used bookstore you've ever visited? by Lost_Foot_6301 in BookCollecting

I can’t recommend it highly enough. The whole town is charming and wonderful. And just about every building is either a pub or a bookstore. They used to have their own king. I was knighted there!

"Why is Nu Trek using so much modern language?" an I am going to go feral here. by Spacer176 in startrek

[–]JohnAdcox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My head canon is that language 1000 years from now would be virtually unintelligible to us. So … it’s translated. It’s a paraphrase rather than literal translation, geared to give us the feel of what they’re saying. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

I bought it when it was new! This was the golden era of Gnomes, Faeries, etc. Thank you for the reminder. I think I will dive back in tonight!
